whats the next update gonna be?

My prediction? "Team Fortress 2.1! Now with more patches!" It'll be a packin with Portal 2 or Half Life 2 Episode 3 Dallas Cowboys 7, in an attempt to duplicate the Orange Box. It's be a compact whole which is able to be QAed and certified as a lump. Because Valve can't go through the patch wars that they do with the PC versions. They can't launch 24 patches a week until it's right... it has to be right... out of the box.
That's what I think they'll do. It would be pretty ironic if that happens, the ps3 would have the best console version of TF2 :facewall:...if they use the Steam Cloud like they are for Portal 2.

It has nothing to do with ram and gpu; it has to deal with Harddrive space. TF2 is huge now... we're talking about 7GB. At least, that's my understanding of it; I'm a PC gamer. I don't do consoles.

lol im pretty much pure pc as well i own a 360 but it hasn't been on in months, lol but even hard disk wise the new 360 has 250 lol and doenst require a download lol but i figure it would probably use lower poly count models anyway as many games do compared to pc =D

Next update that I want to see is FIXING the major laging issues caused by the engi update.

I haven't experienced any of this. They already fixed some lag on round startup and round end, and since then, I haven't seen any lag other than that related to my lovely, lovely internet connection.

I haven't had any more lag than usual since the update, but I did notice a considerable FPS drop...Which always seems to happen after a class update. I used to run TF2 at 100 + FPS before the War update, now it's dipping down as low as 20 FPS.

What i want to see..is another go round, but not with weapons, the weapons are fine, but alot of the older updated classes achivements are pretty out of date now, they should add about 10 new achivements for each class that concerns the updates that followed it...more killing...more good!

i haven't had any lag even during teh early update that wanst any more than normal and my fps average for tf2 is like 60 so im fine =D

I'm hoping for Polycount and trading at the same time.
then, after that they might just keep releasing things from the community...

The thing with the Xbox version of TF2 is, to update it to the PC versions current state would be impossible, the Xbox doesn't actually have enough memory to be able to run it. Kind of funny :P. They would have to use lower quality models or not include all the maps or something :P

xbox can handle tf2, its easy!

Valve puts tf2 on retail, not orange box but just tf2, they pretty much include the game, and updates to the game including game fixes, weapon updates (not NEW weapons, but weapon updates.)
Then Valve releases hat/weapon "Packs" (pretty much game addons, you may pay 5 dollars for it. valve wanted to make them free before but microsoft makes them put a price on it.) including a collection of weapons and hats, IE: the pyro pack. which would include 3 pyro hats and the pyro weapons. when there is an update for new pyro weapons, anyone owning the pyro game add on gets the new weapons. as for maps there are 3 choices, valve includes the official added maps added when the same class update came out, like when you buy the pyro pack, cp_fastlane and ctf_turbine are included, or valve can release map packs, a collection of 5 or so maps that were added during the class updates, OR you could have the option of buying specific maps and only 1, so if you wanted to just play on turbine, you could buy that map and only that map.
also instead of new weapons being added if you purchase a specific update, there could be community weapon pack #1: description shows the weapons names and what they do.
Also to keep players playing tf2 on the xbox, whenever a new major update comes out (IE: the polycount update)instead of making everyone who already owns tf2 buy another thing, valve would send out redeem codes making everyone who owns it on the xbox be able to get the polycount pack for free. (For the weapon/hat packs, you dont automatically get them. same as tf2 for pc you can get the CHANCE to get them, but buying a class pack includes the same classes achievements, as well as the milestones.)

there is my step by step way to get tf2 on xbox. and ALSO there are larger games for pc that work fine on the xbox too.

also if this ever happens i may stop playing tf2 on the pc for good. :D

But 7 gigs large? nope. I get what you're saying by increasing it bit by bit, but the stuff is still all there. Unless they give the box some more hard drive space, we won't be seeing a fully fledged tf2 on the box for a loooong time.

Besides, why would you want to play it on the box and pay for things? free updates on the pc, and guaranteed up-to-date content.

hard drive space for an xbox is 250 gigs. :P

also i have steam games that i also have for an xbox,

borderlands takes up 10 gigs, works fine on xbox
left 4 dead 2 is almost 40 Gigs! and it works fine on xbox (i also never downloaded any custom maps for l4d2 on the pc, just played the official ones.)

and some others that aren't even installed, the xbox can run tf2 fine on the xbox. :D
