Upload it to a different picture site. Photobucket resizes images and photos automatically. If nothing else, upload it to http://tinypic.com/

It's small because if a file is over a certain size photobucket will shrink it.

It's small because if a file is over a certain size photobucket will shrink it.

In the photo uploader, there's a "(more options)" link. Click it.

In the dialog that pops up, set the "resize my images to" to "1 megabyte file size."

Just about every photo I upload, even huge ones dimension wise, are under a meg. And if they're over a meg, photobucket "should" reduce the quality before reducing dimensions.
