Thanks for your time phobus, and it can be 700 before shipping also, and try to get as close to 700 as you can, you can go over it about 100 bucks also. make it performance crazy.

What resolution monitor will you be using?

Yes, I want to know what that is! seems to me like 2 GPU's? hehe:D

I will be using a 1600x900 and preferably HD capable, as I sometimes use a 24" 1080p monitor.
 
Alright, my build request is going to require a little work I'm afraid. Currently I'm using the same rig for work and play. I would like a second setup for one or the other, whatever is more appropriate for the new computer.

Current rig is i7 860 @ 2.80, 6gb DDR3, single 640 HDD w/ room in the box for 3 more, XFX 5750, x64 Win 7 Premium. I'm running Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, and 3DS Max for work and BFBC2, DiRT2, etc for play. Work computer will run the dual 20" 1600x900s I'm currently using and game computer will run either 42" 480p(DVI, serial, and component only) or yet to be acquired 27"(belongs to my cousin, don't know full specs)

So, with that in mind:

1. $1600 give or take a little to 98103
2. Work or game, see above
3. No? No experience but I'm open to it
4. Everything for tower, no OS, will be loading Win 7 Ultimate
5. Work computer as long as possible, gaming 2-3 years
6. Work rig MUST fit in 17"H x 10"W x 21"D desk space including airspace, current rig fits fine

Alright. Well I have a few ideas.
What you have now is great for a workstation, but with those programs, you could benefit better with an nvidia card (CUDA cores ftw).
But you need a gaming computer. If there's any money left over (which there probably will), then you can pick up a nice nvidia card for your workstation. They need to hurry up and release the lower end GTX 400 series...

That pretty much maxes your budget. And the motherboard allows you to add a second 460 down the road, too.

Oh yeah. It could run it at max at 2560x1600 and still be good. Hell, you could get multiple monitors and it would still run it at max.

4 - No mouse. No keyboard. No monitor. No speakers. No OS (I have free Windows 7).
5 - 5+ years with upgrades here and there.
6 - I don't need a fancy, dancy case. A simple one would do fine. But preferably one that is easy for a noob to upgrade stuff in the future.

Additional Information:

1 - I would like a graphics card capable of dual screen powers.
2 - I have a 24' monitor. Will add another within a year.
3 - I don't keep up with the latest games. I am interested in playing BC2 relatively smoothly when I buy it, but anything beyond BC2 recommended requirements is a little too much. I don't play Starcraft 2.
4 - I would like to keep it within $600-$800, but can be more if justified.
5 - I use very, very little hard drive space. 250GB is probably more than enough. If I can save money anywhere, it would be the hard drive and its space.
6 - All prices are in Canadian dollars.
7 - Please use the following websites in order of preference:

If you think buying individual components separately is cheaper, I can get it put together for $35 at the first link place.

$600-800 isn't much in Canada. You won't be able to max out BC2 with that little of a budget.
And by dual screen power, do you mean gaming on two screens or being able to output to two screens?

How much do you think is necessary for that to happen?

Output to two screens (i.e. not merging two monitors into one huge screen).
