I was faced with a similar situation back in 2006 with my old clan, [LoC]. It was originally a Call of Duty (1)-based clan [division established in 2003, I joined Jan. 2nd, 2004], but CoD2 had just been released, and a bunch of people were playing that. The clan decided to spread out to fully support both games. However, the clan overspread its reach. It didn't have enough people to support both. A clan in the hundreds dropped to a few tens in a matter of months, as players found themselves in servers other than ours, since we couldn't get our servers populated. Of the 200 or so hours I logged into CoD2, more than three-quarters of that was sitting around in an empty server, trying to fill it, as clanmates went and enjoyed themselves in other servers. That ruined the game for me. I cannot enjoy playing CoD2, even now. I think it's the worst in the series, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's mostly because of my experience sitting in an empty server for hours on end every day. The clan fell apart entirely by the start of 2007. I didn't join another clan (at least not officially. I did a lot of work with my father's clan) for another three years until eGO, and, even then, it took over a year of pestering from a few individuals to get brought into the Insurgency division.
I recognize that we aren't in the same exact situation. However, I had really, really bad experiences with something similar enough to scare me. Beware of overreaching our boundaries. Do not, under any circumstances, believe that this clan is above it. Look at Insurgency now (or even a few months ago, before the division started spreading out). There are very few populated servers at any given time, and even fewer are regularly populated. The game is dying out. Our three main servers, even the one that's empty half of the day, sits in the top ten servers regularly. A lack of support could fold the division, and perhaps screw the game over as much as eGO's support helped RnL during Alpha.
If you want to play other games, that's fine. I'm not going to say only play INS. That'd be foolish. Hypocritical, even, as I've been trying to cram in a bunch of other games during the summer, both supported by eGO and not, just so that I could play them. I do think, however, that it's in the division's best interest to acknowledge that Insurgency is the heart of the division and maintain strong support of it (and not the "of course we will" brush-off that [LoC]'s CoD1 division got), and not lose sight of that.
