Lag - server or player?

Recently, I've been getting extreme lag spikes on the highschool/jail servers when I try to voice chat or view the scoreboard...this usually only happens once per connect, yet it is very annoying considering it happens for 20-25 seconds...is anyone else having the same problem? I'd also like to see what players blame their lag on.

+1, I never experience lag from the game, unless someone gun spams or its right before server crashes

Seems unanimous that it's the user. I get random lag spikes but for the most part I run smoothly

In New Zealand, where I'm from, the internet connection absolutely sucks, it spikes and changes and greatly varies, thus causing lag spikes. However, this is reflected in the latency that I have. I find that anything under 300 still allows you to function quite smoothly.

Also, you can tell when it is the server because most players will complain or ask about it in chat at the same time.

Exactly what Legend said. When people blame the servers, it's just some lame excuse for why they died because they just can't stand the fact that they died.

For me, it's a combination of:

a) My bad computer specs
b) My bad graphics card
c) My playing on a laptop (overheat)
d) My bad connection.

I usually don't get lag but yesterday i started getting a ton of lag, especially when I press tab or spray my spray theres a huge lag spike. I don't know what it could be, was there an update yesterday or something?

Its all better if you play like.... the server is in the same room/bed with you. I'm positive you'll nvr get any lag!
