Is it worth it? If you bought it for 1000$ you could've got a pretty decent custom build PC

I got mine for $450 and it can run BC2 on High @ around 40-50 fps

Idk seems like Alienwares are just unnecessary overkill imo. But hey ut's good you got something to suit your needs.

Alienware (in desktops) is just a flashy computer manufacturer, and sure, they may have good performance, but the price is too high, even for a prebuilt. It's about 30% mark up just for the name. But, unlike cars or anything else, really, you do get the exact same experience, but you just spent more.
Alienware (in laptops) have flashy cases and keyboards, and not too shabby specs, but oh boy do they gain price quickly. Less mark up, here, though. If you absolutely want to go Alienware, get one of their laptops.

When I mean high, I mean every single setup in BC2 at maximum + every settings in Optimus enable for the best performance possible. Sure, I can do 40 FPS on high, but everything is not "maxed". Again, I ran the game on medium graphics with every Optimus settings on high and I got 40 FPS. I could do something like 60-70 on medium with lower Optimus settings, but that's the result I got. You could compare the 335M to a single 8880GT

My first actual gaming pc was an alienware. It lasted me close to 6 years with no problems. I do not regret that purchase at all.

Well, I have a 8800gt on my old PC, and yes you are right, it does more than 20 FPS on high, altough I think we have to consider the CPU too, not only the GPU ...

perhaps. BC2 is a pretty poor example when talking gpu and fps comparisons. BC2 is an extremely CPU intensive game.

Dell was once a fantastic brand, but now outsourcing to no-name Chinese manufacturers and their impeccable taste for pathetic motherboards still proves why HP is the number one computer manufacturer on Earth. Still.

So much flame about Toyota. They're reliable, not gonna lie, and I work on about 3 or 4 every week at my job. You'd be surprised how many 90's Toyota's come into the shop with just a few nicks and some rust, with 250,000+ miles still running fine.

I never said they were high quality, but whoever I quoted earlier made them out to be really bad.
