My new rig.

After much thought and head scratching, I decided to finally buy the much needed parts for my out-dated rig.

In the end, after hours of looking for the best, yet "cheapest" parts, I ended up with this mighty fine collection of electronic devices.

They are the following:

AMD Phenom II 1090T, which I've easily overclocked to 3.7GHz without any heat problems.

4x2Gb Corsair Dominator 1600MHz, overclocked to 1830MHz (Give or take 10MHz). Currently @ 1600MHz due to heat. Timings: 9-9-9-24 stable @ 1800MHz (1.6V OC, 1.5V default)

All placed so finely on a Asus Corsair Formula IV (Think I got the name right).

Also got a CoolIT ECO A.L.C water cooler.

Given that my older MB and CPU didn't take my pair of HIS Radeon HD4870 too well (The vicious bottleneck got me..), I bought this fine pieces of equipment.
I can now use both GPU's, satisfying my gaming needs.
All powered by a Corsair 750W PSU.

The only problem I have, though, is there's no IDE connection(s) on the motherboard as I can see, thus, installing network drivers etc. required me to improvise.

I would recommend this build (Possibly with less RAM and 1 GPU of the HD5000 series) to anyone who can afford it, as it's seriously worth it.

Ran BF:BC2 a quick round, and with everything on max, I had no lagg at all.
I have also yet to lagg on WoW, with the FPS never dropping below 40. (Haven't tried in Northrend or any raids yet)

All placed in a mighty fine CM HAF932.

Also, had to cough up about 1134$ for these parts, excluding everything else. But I think it all costs about 2k$, excluding the CD-ROM thingy, monitor and fan control I have.

Now to the point of this long thread; What's eGO members opinion on this build? Anything I should've/shouldn't have done?
Opinions on the build? etc.

*EDIT*

I also got 21k+ 3Dmarks from 3DMark06. I saved the results as a .3DR file, but 3DMark won't open it for some reason..

1090T is a bad $300 CPU. i7s are better.
Crosshair IV is for enthusiasts.
H50 > CoolIT ECO A.L.C.

What PSU exactly?

Don't take what I mean as "oh your computer sucks", its just that there are better options. But your computer is in no way bad. :)

No offense taken, mate.

Aye, i7s are better, but the price:performance ratio on as good as all AMD cpu's is pretty damn insane in my opinion. Also, the 1090T perfectly suits my needs, and give me exactly the performance I want. Aswell as being a BE CPU, it's a wonderful OC toy :)

Also, I shaved off 25$ by choosing the CoolIT instead of the H50.

After a copy-pasta from the website I ordered it from, this is what I got about the PSU:

Corsair TX 750W PSU
ATX 12V V2.2, 80 Plus, Standard. 4x 6+2-pin PCIe, 8x SATA, 140mm fan.

Any NB heat issues with the CHIV?

The 1090T will only get faster as time goes on and more applications utilize 6 cores. Or, Why wait!, you could set 2 of the cores to fold 24/7 while the other 4 run games and stuff.

No heat issues yet.

Aye, I could do that, but time will tell if I'm gonna do any of that anyways. : )

Doing the same build, cept with a 1055T

Ya, my build is 2K with monitors and such, and a 150$ ssd

What monitors, RAM, MB and GPU are you gonna buy?

Also, if you're into overclocking, the 1090T BE is the thing, seeing as it has unlocked multiplier and such. But non the less, the 1055T is a solid piece of CPU : )

Nice build. Keep pushing the OC (NB, GPUs, more out of the CPU). Your hardware can definitely take it.

I must request pictures ;)

unlocked multi's are for sissies

real men (or women) oc with the FSB/Base clock/system clock/reference clock/whatever you want to call it

1. What difference will OC'ing the NB do? I've never heard about that before :s
2. The GPU's are already set to max clock. Think 755/980 is the highest I can do them on before going unstable during heavy loading.
3. Currently keeping the CPU on 3.95GHz (lets say 4.0^^) stable, gonna try more later.
4. Pics comming tomorrow : )

Raising the NB will make your ram faster without overclocking your ram.
It's your CPU's connection with the ram. Have it to about 2600-2800MHz. But you need NBCore set to ~1.25 for 2600MHz and ~1.3 for 2800MHz

yes it will make ram alot faster than oc'in, and i have to request some pictures as well

Okay, so my somewhat nice voltage/temperature monitoring program tells me there's "NB Voltage" and "CPU/NB Voltage", both which I can change in BIOS. What do? I'm unfamiliar with NB frequency OC at levels like this, and somewhat fresh at OC'ing generally, so might need a little help here. Possibly take it by PM?

Oh, btw, here's some pictures as promised. Ain't no good looking computer, but it's my baby : )

That horrible IDE cable is removed now : )

Leave the CPU-NV VID alone, thats the memory controller's voltage. Leave that at 1.35(?) I think, or whatever stock is. You just raise the NB voltage.

Aye, 1.35V is default.

NB is now on 2700MHz, 1.24V.

Btw, you mind PM'ing me why my PC won't run Prime95 while my CPU is at 4GHz? Getting kinda annoying, seeing as all games are stable as rock.

+1, well said. I have heard that OC'n you NB will give you "the most noticable perfomance gains" (cant say i agree or disagree but my comp screams with my NB at 2.8 ghz).

Love the Pics too zetas. The HAF-X is a sweet case

Haha, HAF932 actually. And it is, but the 932 is just as good IMO :)

But I'm going to paint the inside black and look for those black rubber things to hide the wires going inside the holes. Looks kinda neat I think. Obsidian 800D got that kind of thing, and it's sweet!
