[poll] External Harddrive:BIG PROBLEM

Well nothing will show up in my external. And it says 0bytes used and 0bytes free. I think its a virus. If not any ideas?

Did it come with a drivers disc?
Or check the manufacterer's website for Drivers...

Well - How do I know that it is installed correctly?

Please tell us the steps you did after opening the box. Next, open the device manager and see if it has a yellow exclemation point or if it shows up correctly under the hard disks section.

Also, have you tried formatting it? Since they dont knwo if it is for MAC Windows or Linux, it may not be formated.

The disk is only for Win98/SE

Is it a Western Digital 400GB Mybook? I had one that died like that... I found that it would do that often too. I had to plug it into a different computer and then it showed up that my things were there.
