I am disapointed to see that a large number of "e's" do not know our rules. Lately I have seen "e's" argue with admin's in open chat or even try to admin themself's when there is two or more admin's in the game. This lead's to them being kicked or silenced, this show's the pub's that we will be fair in dealing with all player's but it also show's that the standard of member's is declining.
Please will all new member's read our rule's and the stickies as they are important.
Ingame if you have a problem talk to admin in private admin chat, not open chat. :confused1:

I completely agree with this and wish there was some way to be more restrictive in our recruitment practices to some extent. I like the idea of bringing in more members, but it seems like that double edge sword has been cutting us back lately. Once they put that e in their tag, they will forever be associated with this organization for better or worse.

yea i agree. We should do a good background check on them instead of 5mins and there in. thats why i loose faith in eGO sometimes.

This isnt the place for us to be saying we're losing faith in eGO.
I love eGO, and although I agree and some of the newer members arent to the standard that we'd love, this doesnt belong out in the open.

Question: Is it wrong of me to tell a teammate to watch his language, regardless of whether or not the admin is present and/or is on my team?

Some of us are somewhat useful. :P

Admining isn't simply reminding people of the rules or kicking them once they break them, it is managing a group of many different types of people and making sure that gameplay is both fun and fair for everyone. This sometimes requires an admin to approach different types of people in different ways. For instance, I'm not going to approach the heckler who will explode once he's told to change his name the same way that I am going to approach the person who slipped up and said a cussword on mic, etc.

The right approach, I would think, would be just like London said and just use admin chat. This is used by using team_say and then the @ symbol. For instance "@ Hey, x keeps spamming mic. He keeps doing it, could you help me warn him?"

"@ Hey, everyone is concerned that x is hacking. Could you spec him?"

There have been countless times where I am private chatting with an offending player and any of the work I did to get them to carry on peacefully and abide by the rules is thrown out the window by an e member saying "YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR NAME THEY DONT ALLOW CUSSING." This usually just launches them into a tirade about eGO and the rules, etc that ends up taking down an even bigger part of the server by involving them in a conversation that shouldn't even really be had.

By the same token, when something is bothering me in-game and an eGO is present I am always quick to let them know what situation I see (via admin chat) and what their thoughts are on the matter. I usually end up taking action so that they can enjoy the game and focus on playing more than admining. Yes, we all miss things, but we need to be notified IN PRIVATE. You will realize that most admining is done without the majority of the server knowing, and for a very very good reason.

Cheers on bringing up a tough subject to discuss, London, but that is usually your style.

Well I can say I'm an "e" who knows the rules. After all, I've been with eGO for over 2 years now. But I have seen that a couple of times.

well for one i know that this is partially if not completely addressed to me, i'm sorry if you took it the wrong way i was just asking you if you were lagging or not, because your ping was much higher than mine, i'm sorry if you took it the wrong way

Well I've been talking to the admins when troubles afoot through the means as you've just said. Thanks for clearing that up.

Ive seen this come up a number of times, and ive posted about it a number of times. Still gets on my nerves that people cant take 5 minutes and actually read our rules. No mercy for these punks!!! :chair: The thing that ticks me off the most is that all these jerkface wanna-be eGO members make all of our good e's look terrible! Dont worry little fellas, Stormy is on your side!

Very simple, if an e breaks the rules kick him/her, then they will learn to read the rules. On the other hand, if an e is helpful to an admin, thank him, or maybe recommend him for an award or promotion:)

I agree I was a little surprised myself. My first game back from and extensive leave, I find my self being asked not to glitch by an e. I was rather surprised. It was no big deal, I figured a lot more e's where recruited while I was gone.

I am glad somebody brought this up. I have seen an increasing amount of "bad e's." But as eGs and eGOs we should respond smarter and much more mature. Everyone is watching and as the best community ever, we can't let eGO members going wild on our own servers.

We should consider stickying this for a bit. I think it's a very important lesson for e's to learn. Especially as I am just coming off of a game where this turned into a huge problem that led to several advisors being bothered to come in game.
