Today, i've cycled the power on my router and modem over 20 times. My modem keeps losing connection with my router

i have a belkin N1 vision router. And some motorola modem.

What would this be caused by?

I called them, they said my line was fine.

Hm, is the power source the modem is running on going out?

Does your modem utilize a battery? If so is it going out?

Is the Ethernet wire running from modem to router fine?

How old is the Router?

Is the network properly configured or did you change any network settings recently?

How many computers is this network supplying for?

Is the Ethernet wire running from modem to router fine? I just switched the cables a few mins ago, seeing how long it lasts.

How old is the Router? Routers a year old, modem is 4 years or more.

Is the network properly configured or did you change any network settings recently? Well its cable, DHCP auto configures it, and i set the wireless up myself.

How many computers is this network supplying for? Playstation 3, Wii, 1 desktop, 2 laptops, 2 iPod Touches.

May want to turn of any of the devices that may be utilizing the internet. Sometimes my modem likes to reset itself when alot of bandwidth is used.

when it resets, nothing was being used but the PS3, or the PC + ps3, not all devices run constantly.

I think its more to do with the modem.

Hm, im thinking that maybe the connections in the modem are going bad. Or maybe the modems power or something is going out. It is over 4 years old so thats the likely problem.

I'll check and see if my ISP will give me a new one
