Ever not used skins in Counter-Strike just because of the time it would take to switch if you ever needed to scrim or for other purpouses? This tutorial will show you how to switch between skins fast, and between normal skins and cool ones.

Now if you look here, I've already duplicated the cstrike folder, but ignore the skins folder.

Now, in order to duplicate that folder, you have 2 options.

1. Copy and paste, easy. However, a lot of people already have skins in and can't duplicate their folder.

2. The bailout: rename your cstrike folder: something like this.

Now when you start up Counter-Strike...you automatically get a new cstrike folder, with no changes.

There's your folder. Now when you check out your guns in game...

Good, now you can minimize and rename your folders. I named my new cstrike folder tactical, with the original ones and the general skins one.

Now i'm going to run the skins folder. Just rename your current cstrike folder to it's directory name (for example, the regular folder can be original/default/pootis, whatever you feel like that you can remember). Rename the folder you want to use, I'm renaming tactical, to cstrike. That makes sure the game runs that folder. Check out the guns now.

There you have it. As you rename your folders, any time you rename a folder to just cstrike, the game will run that folder with those addons. Since it only takes 5 seconds to rename the folder instead of the 20 minutes it can take to copy new skins in your folder.

POINTS OF NOTICE:

You must copy critical files such as admin files and .cfgs into your new folders.

Edited 5/22/011 for more accuracy...and because people ask about skins.

Thanks,

I hate having to delete all my skins when a server has Pure on or whatever.

Nice tutorial:P Ive heard a lot of skin related questions lately. mainly installation so this should help out many.

This is a nice idea! For scrims, I currently have a NOT4SCRIMS folder, but I might switch to this method soon. Thanks, man!

Also if you do scrims or anything and you dont want to delte all of your skins just tske the Materials,Models, sound ect folders and cut them from your cstrike folder and paste them on desktop then when done the scrim or anything elese place all folders back in cstrike folder.

Nice, what i do is i make back-up folder thats non-skinned cstrike folder and skinned cstrike folder. That works too and everytime i get a new skin i update my skinned cstrike folder. Works perfect everytime :)

This nearly sounds as easy as putting on my spiderman costume for halloween ! And yes I still Halloween. Free candy is free candy. And the big kids can go to like 1000 houses in one night.

I don't use skins, but I know it will be useful to others.
