Here's the thing. I am a VERY good idea person. I have plots for text-adventure games I've made in notebooks around my room, basic graphs and designs for game layouts... but I can't really program.
The best map for Jail seems to fit a few patterns.
1. It is themed and decent to look at.
2. It has room to explore.
3. It is fair for both the T's and the CT's and gives footing for rebelling and containment.
Examples: Amazonian fits 1 and 2, but seems to be more fitted to the T's, and most rounds end in quick rebels.
However, a map that is too hard to rebel at all on is not going to please anyone either, except the lucky ones who get CT.
My proposal for a new map would be modeled on a 1984-style theme, a prison of stainless steel, propaganda posters, torture rooms, cameras everywhere, and more. I already have several "Ministry of Homeland Security" posters that could be used. The entire thing would be dirty industrial.
New games:
Musical chairs. A set number of wooden chairs in a room. When the music is turned off, one will be left chairless. Depending on limitations, a chair will automatically disappear one by one, or CT's could simply destroy a wooden chair on their own for the next round. This would also kill the need for "last reaction" type games in discos.
CT locations: Overwatch central: Overlooks the main prison cells. Cells would be manual control.
T rebel paths: One cell would have a poster on the wall that leads outside the complex via a sewar, which should be familiar to movie buffs.
Torture chamber: Various ideas for this one, one that received positive feedback was a solitary cell with a loop of Justin Bieber.
Rave: Raves/discos are and should be a key part of any map. I have seen six songs on one eGO map, but most have a sad three. Why not a nine song map? I've seen it done. Things to remember is that VARIETY IS KEY. Yes, happy hardcore and techno rock, but you're aiming for a mix to please most players.
Some songs to consider adding that break the norm. (And yes, I have high-quality rips if needed). Note: Yes, I have a lot of high quality techno and hardcore I can supply as well, but I'm focusing here on ideas that would probably get overlooked otherwise.
First of all, it's a disco, so consider adding some actual disco. KC and the Sunshine Band, for example, or Bus Stop's remix of Kung Fu Fighting.
Rednex- Cotton-Eyed Joe. It's got a decent fast-paced beat, and is definably not your typical country song.
Darude- Music (Bostik Radio Edit). Sandstorm is overrated and everyone has heard it a million times. Try this classic Darude hit instead.
Adam Freeland- We Want Your Soul. Needs to be censored a bit, but an excellent song, with at least 4 remixes.
Men Without Hats- Safety Dance. For the irony.
Europe- The Final Countdown- Use this or the 2000 remix when lockdown is about to occur.
Possible secret songs-
Auto-tune the news, Chocolate rain mix, TF2 heavy Justin Bieber remix.
More observations coming soon.
