The Sydney Sleeper Discussion (First Impressions)

Having gotten this gun early I think it offers both a more team orented approach to the sniper and makes sniper more accesable to those that can't headshot for whatever reason.

See a heavy in combat? Wait for 50% charge (the jaratee activation) and shoot so he dies quick. Bonus point if you wait for 75% charge (to achieve a piercing shot) and get the medic too.

See a suspicios player? Paint that spy yellow.

Notice a treatening player? Paint them yellow. Soldiers are known to be attracted to the color yellow :).

Need I even mention crowded hallways?

You will not be pluging kills from battlements all day (thats what the rifle's for). You will not be a source of suppression fire (umm hello? Lucksman). You are a true support class. Grab the set bonus and you don't have to devote as much attention to enemy snipers while you support.

I have yet to try it (I have yet to shelve my Jaratee since the sniper vs spy update), but this gun will theroreticaly synergize well with the SMG. Get that 50%+ shot to jaratee them then tear them up with the SMG.

Glad someone else sees the upside of this weapon. Though I do have to disagree on one thing, the SMG still does laughable damage regardless of mini-crits or not. I had the SMG at the end of a round that my team won recently and it literally took me a full clip at mid range to kill a Soldier with the crits... its so bad =\

It's to finish someone off after you hit them with a rifle, and they get too close to finish with your rifle. Works wonders against scouts, there's a reason why all the snipers in comp use them. Much better in jarate if you know how to use it.

I'd also like to say that I see the upside of the weapon and how it can be used effectively. I just think that the negative impact this weapon will have on the game far outweighs the benefits. I look at dead ringer and lucksman the same way. Yeah, I see how to use it effectively, but I still believe the game would be better off without it.

I dont care for the weapon...No bullet-based gun should have a blast radius...Other than that, I dont see any real problems with the gun

Apparently you've never had the pleasure of shooting off incendiary rounds. :)

Yes, a bullet that has a blast radius is 'new' to TF2, but the real world has had em now pushing 200 years... ;)

Bout time we got em in game!
