So, as you may or may not know, valve released an update that messed around with things that they didn't need to mess around with, one of which was the crosshairscale. If you read the Update log you would know how to fix this and what they added/removed but ive had many people ask today "What happened to my crosshair" "How do I fix it, its too big" but basically heres how to do it for you guys who havnt figured it out yet since cl_crosshairsize 1 is still a way bigger crosshair than some used.

first you have to set cl_legacy_crosshair_scale to 1 through console. After you have done that, cl_crosshairscale will now work as normal and you can continue on as you used too. Easy as that.

Im hoping this helps people out because it seemed to be headache for some.

This really needed to be posted. Perhaps if people don't know about this for awhile, this post should be stickied?

I didn't notice a change after update. Screenshots before/after?

If you didn't notice anything, then its nothing to worry about, this is just for people who had specific crosshair sizes they really got used to and liked but the update ruined, so this way they can get them back.

I used Cl_crosshairsize 5 .

Like, I had to keep changing it because it would keep reverting back to 9 for some reason.

Ty, this will probably be what I was doing wrong.

I've read about that command not working for some people. They ended up using cl_crosshairsize like Wind ^^^ mentioned. I typed it in without a number to see where mine was currently set and found it was 6 after the update from being 1 beforehand. I brought it down to 1 and set the crosshair size in the GUI based options menu to auto (was on small) and it brought everything back to normal for me.

I also read something about the "translucent" checkbox from Steam saying one of the fixes in that (or the second update that came right after it) was for a discrepancy in the previous version of the games labeling of which was and wasn't translucent and what appeared in the demo box on the screen. They stated most users will want to check the translucent box to have it be as it was pre-update or something to that effect. I'm about to switch it in mine and see. They said it had to do with something like map-lighting on a lot of the newer maps being made and how it disappeared on some surfaces, etc... I know I lose mine to some backgrounds and end up missing a shot on someone as a result. I wanna see if it works.

Hope this helps.
