I've only recently started playing TF2 a little bit, and I've racked up about 7 hours of playtime. xP

Which basically means I'm still at noob level. Actually, less.

So I wanted to ask the helpful ppl of the eGO TF2 Divison for some tips! :D
I prefer playing as Engineer or Sniper.
Obvously as an Engineer it's about building guns, teles, and dispensers in convienent places, but what are some of the best tips you have to offer an Engineer player?
Same goes with Sniper. :D

I haven't had much playtime with other classes, so I''m still finding my strongpoint. So any other TF2 tips you have would be awesome! :D

Thanks guys.

Tips for a sniper:

Don't get ahead of yourself, know your limits.

Don't just camp, me mobile and switch up your position.

On defense, guard the main entree ways so that you can pick off anyone trying to come through.

On offense, try to take out enemy engineers and other prime targets that could stop you from capping the point/intel.

The best tip I can give though is this: Take every shot. Even if you don't think you can't make the shot, take it. You might just hit the enemy.

Those are just a couple of tips, if you want more then you should head over to the TF2 steam forums and find some how-to-play videos and guides about the sniper. Have fun :)

Sniper - Always move, never stand still and be scoped it. When facing another sniper, jump and and run back and forth to make him shoot first and then you can try and quick shot back.

Engineer - Right click when placing a SG is your best friend...Seriously...It is...

First. Sabion is a terrible sniper, don't follow his tips. <3
But, really, those are some good tips. Always take the shot is my best advice. Even if you think you'll miss.

Second, right-clicking turns what you want to build so your gun doesn't face the wall. Oh pro-tip, don't wrangle your sentry gun unless you're intentionally spamming a single corner. If you're playing regular defense the wrangler is the biggest mistake ever. Just saw today a really good engineer let a medic cap the intel alone because he accidentally switched to wrangler.

Most often I do always take the shot as a sniper, esp. after I saw myself get 3 headshots in a row for it. xD

And I was wondering how I change the angle of my SG. xP Thanks pet rock.

when you place your sentry try to cover as many ways as possible. also try not to place it in a corner because demos can get it more easily (but i guess that depends on the map and the place on the map).
if you want to read an awesome engy guide i recommend reading this:

dreadmaker made an aweseom guide for the engineer there. it might help you ;)

Yeah, as far as countersniping goes, the more mobile you are the better. If you're staying scoped in, it should only be while the other sniper is reloading. If you ever stand still, you're asking to get killed. Also, don't always pick the same spot to run to. People will know where to look for you. For instance, on turbine I almost always run out of intel, but then I tried the battlements a couple times and nobody saw me at all. Keep 'em guessing.

For sniper:
Hide your dot if possible
Check for spys if you feel that something's unusual
As stated above don't stay in one place, to easy of a target

Sniper AND Engineer:
Be aware of your surroundings!
Make you you listen for decloaking sounds!
Sometimes on certain surfaces (metal scaffolding, wood ramps) you can hear foot steps, make sure you listen for that pyro sneaking up on you!
Turn around often, you'll be surprised at how often you catch someone!
Listen for sounds of battle near you, like an ally's death cry right next to you or explosions!
Keep back against wall if you can, help prevent nasty spies!
That's all that i saw missing.

CONSTANT VIGILANCE!

For the engineer: There are 2 things that most engineers chose to ignore.

1: RIGHT CLICKING ROTATES YOUR SENTRY 90 DEGREES. This is VERY important for trying to build in places that need rotating. :D

2: BUILDING A DISPENSER OR A TELEPORTER (surprisingly a teleporter isn't a word according to spell check.) IN FRONT OF A SENTRY BLOCKS THE SENTRIES LINE OF VIEW OR WHATEVER. That pretty much means if you build a dispenser in front of that sentry, every thing behind that dispenser is invisible to the sentry, so it cant shoot there.

NEVER stand in front of your own sentry! (found that out the hard way =[ haha)

Slightly updated. ;)

Keep moving, don't just stand still. Even if you just press your direction keys randomly. If you're low on health, retreat and get some. Learn to spy check, look behind you. Be a team player, use your mic.

Most importantly, have fun :)
