My ethernet ports are working just fine, I have an internet connection can connect to steam and use online applications. The problem is whenever I use an internet browser (chrome, IE, or firefox) it will not load a webpage. For example. When i type google.com into address bar, the page will come up blank and the tab will say untitled (firefox). IE cannot display page (IE). Similar thinks happen with other web clients I have used. I have tried googling and havent found an answer to my case. I think there may be a problem with my registry but im not sure.

The problem began after AVG removed malware.

Any suggestions would be nice

EDIT: apparently the malware was trying to force my browsers through one of there proxies which was causing my error of being unable to use the browser properly. By making sure my normal proxxy setting were correct and removing the malware solved the problem

Restart your router/modem.
Get Malwarebytes, run that in Safe Mode.
Get CCleaner, and both tools.
Uninstall AVG, and get a better anti-virus (Such as MSE, Avast, or Avira)

Or you can check your connection settings and make sure it is set to automatic for ipv4 connectivity.

Can you get to a website via IP address? Are you able to ping 4.2.2.2? Ping google.com?

sorry for late response just got back to a place I could use a browser for.

tried the malwarebytes removal that didnt work / IVP4 is enabled.. I cannot connect via IP but i can ping websites in cmd prompt.

I am currently checking to see if browsers are trying to go through a proxy.

Type ipconfig /all and paste here what you have

in your network adapter ipv4 setting try changing the DNS servers to these 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 I think that it is just not resolving names on your isp's DNS.

if it dosnt work put it back to nothing again.

hey thanks for the input guys. Passerby bot it. My browser were set to run through proxy due to the malware that avg removed. It is working now.

Thank's for letting us know, you should update the solution in the original post, and get this thread removed. That way, other people don't have to make new threads :)

Wouldn't it be a better idea to leave the thread here for people with the same problem to look at and see if it can solve it for them? Lock it and edit the original post to include the solution? Think that would be the more logical approach.
