Reason Number 1:
Because I am on the Allied side.
Duh. Would you have expected anything less of me here? I am pretty legit and dedicated to winning. And...well...those of you who have seen me become dedicated to something--it's kinda scary.
Reason Number 2:
Superior Leadership.
No offense to Ravage here. However, you always have to wonder the mental sanity of somebody who chooses Dutchoper for anything, yet alone his third-in-command. What, was Zap Brannigan not available?
Meanwhile, on the other side, you've got (IO) SA who has help from (new Leadership member) Boyle, Efren, and Backstab. Not even on this list, while also likely soon-to-be lesser ranks, are Realism greats/veterans, such as Bad Brain, Blasphemy and of course, ronpaul (as well as others). I predict a real push for solid teamwork this session, which leads me to number three...
Reason Number 3:
A solid gameplan.
Even if I have to come up with something overly ornate myself, propose it to our leadership, and hope it sticks (and then actually works) as a sort of "new doctrine"...we're coming into this thing prepared. Losing is no longer an option. In fact...
Reason Number 4:
Moxie.
I dunno about the rest of my teammates, but I am sensing that there is going to be a real sense of "We just have to win this time. Period." throughout this session. Meanwhile, the Axis side will perhaps have the, "We've got this in the bag" feeling, which will hopefully lead to the saying, Pride cometh before the fall. It can be a scary thing what happens to people when they are backed up against a wall and...Allies just might be there now. I am not sure how many more times we can lose the world before it's too much.
Reason Number 5:
The numbers.
When it boils down to it, we SHOULD win. Check this out...this is each participant's current HLXstats score and their current K

Based on the numbers, the average Allied participant has a score of 7,425, compared to the average Axis score of 7,172. These numbers are close, true, but at the same time not as close as you'd think. Oh, also, the average Allied K
compared to Axis is 1.23 to 1.18 (which is close enough, really). Regardless of what the spread is, Allies have the numerical advantage.
Also, check this out. If you just take the top 16 from each team (highly improbably, but still plausible) and compare them to each other, as in a situation where JUST the "best" players competed all six weeks, the spread is even bigger. The average score for a "top" Allied player is 12,202 points and for an Axis it is 11,043. I understand that picking up another 1,200 points is possible in just a few days (though still a bit impressive) for a player, but when you look at this being the average high-end Ally compared to the average high-end Axis...that's a very large spread. The K
isn't as bad, but it, too, is uneven. Allies have an advantage there too, 1.96 to 1.68.
Now, I know that numbers don't mean everything, and perhaps don't mean anything (especially since this is Realism, not normal play). Don't get me wrong. I am just saying let's get this done Allies, cause on paper, we're better.
...now we've just gotta prove it.
