So I got an Epiphone Special 2 recently (for a really good bargain price) and had to re=string my new guitar.
This is where my problem comes in. At first, I gave it to a professional to string it for me, and got a really odd tip on "two day tuning" or something like that (it was from my dad and he cant speak english well). All of a sudden, three strings snapped and I had to get new ones. This time, I tried doing them and everything went perfect until three more snapped while I was tuning it.
And now, I just put in my third set and another snapped. Any tips on trying to prevent my guitar strings from snapping all of a sudden? I'm getting paranoid just trying to tune my new strings or even remotely touching them, and I dont want to spend another 5 bucks on all these strings.

though it was bad, slashed me across the face >.<
) so i borrowed another band's guitar and ended up snapping a string on that! ( i think that was his fault, the strings were ancient ) and the last i remember was actually at the favourite gig i ever played, in a packed pub it snapped on the last chord of our last song ( it drew a huge amount of laughter and applause
) and after that was when i got a new guitar since i was so fed up with it and never snapped another on stage
