My Planet

I made this planet, using Gimp. The amazing part, for those who know what this is, this only has 8 layers.

2 things though, the outer glow is looks unrealistic if you think of it and the shadow looks pretty rough.

Not so much time once I did it, maybe four hours or so? The main time waster was figuring out how the **** to do it in the first place.

I doubt that it would be much help, but take a look at this one. It is a very good tutorial, and he even uses a similar shadow to mine. ^_^

Reminds me of the planet I made about a couple of years ago:

Wow does your planet kick mine's buttox. Although I think you were a bit excessive on the star count.

We did that in our computer class. Dont have it on my home computer.

Planets are relativity simple to make in Ps or gimp. About an hour tops if you know what you're doing.

Only problems I see:
Outer Glow looks... bla.
Needs a larger inner glow.

Great work dude, but to be honest, that planet took me a ******* long time to make. I understand where you're coming from, but maybe it is a bit easier for you than for others, because it certainly did not take an hour.

But as others have said the outer glow on the planet ends very abruptly and it needs to be more smooth like this image of the earth i drew with a pencil: (not really )

These two tuts are probably the best one for planets + space (detailed easy to follow). Although they are for Ps users, I've heard that they are simple for Gimp users of understand/convert also.

Actually, I only used Topaz for the clouds xD
