First wrestling tournament today

Louisiana. You?

We're no Iowa, but every year it seems to get tougher from what I hear.
You make it in Iowa, you can win state in every other state, well maybe not if you are a hwt in Oklahoma. We are wrestling harder, lifting more, running longer, and getting better. I think next year after the team has fully adjusted to his way of coaching, we can do anything.

I mean we were runner-up last year, and won state the year before, so we were never a bad team.

We are in an easy division this year. We killed our first dual meet guys. Only one of our 14 lost. We only have to worry about the team that has won it the past 7 years in a row.

We were div 2 for the past few years, div 3 this year, and will be div 1 in the coming yeas.

Ah Florida here. Pretty weak programs for the most part, only a couple standout schools. Our schools program is really young, so only about 3 or 4 of us are any good (I'm not exactly all that good, never placed or anything but always won my way onto varsity.)

We lost, but we had 2 of our better guys out. I lost with 5 seconds left in the first round. Not to shabby for wrestling a seed 3 in division 1 in my first varsity dual meet. I had really heavy hands, and started ok, but he was too strong for me to try to sprawl, and the rest is boring

One my first varsity match today as a starter. I'm seeded in the top 3 right now bc my division is so small hahaha.

where you live? my friend had a tournament a couple days ago

That tournament would be located in North Las Vegas, Nevada

Also I have a question for one of the more experienced wrestlers, when you do a 3 quarter stack, or 3 quarter nelson, whatever you want to call it. When you drive the person to pin, do you go to your side, like a cradle while you're pulling in? or can you stay up on your toes?

I stay up on my toes. It puts more pressure downwards on them. Anytime your on your side your taking weight off your opponent, so even if they manage to wiggle out of a 3 quarter stack you at least made them a little tired. I usually try to use my western hook to put the knee as close to their face as possible, makes it a lot harder to get their body uncurled and its harder to breathe for them.

Every region has different name for what ever you are doing, but anytime you have a pin, when acceptable, try to stay perpendicular to the other person and stay on your toes and arch you back.

We call it T'ing out. The letter T has to perpendicular lines. I am surprised there are different terms for it though, I thought my wrestling jargon was fairly universal.

Not in the least, almost every state is different.
