windows live ID/ gamer tag problem with the GFWL forum

[air_nith]

the other day I bought Dirt 2 on steam because it was only $5 but I was having problems with the "games for windows live" service so I thought I would go on the Games For Windows Live support forums http://forums.gamesforwindows.com/

I logged in with my windows live ID but it told me it couldn't find my gamer tag so I went to live.xbox.com and created a gamer tag associated with my windows live ID
but I still get the problem with the "no gamertag found" error when ever I try to log in.

does anybody know why I get this error even though I still created a GamerTag?

Because Games For Windows Live is a failure of a program.

I agree it is a terrible program but I have to get it working to get all the features of dirt 2 to work

I use my Xbox live account for my Windows Live account. You know. There connected in a way. X_X
Anyway, I think the GamerTag needs a real and existing Xbox live account.

Not much I can do but try googling the problem.

they are the same thing actually.
I no longer need to sign into the WFGL forums because I was able to find out the problem with games for windows live on dirt 2
