Healing & LR's

Good day everyone. My self, and a lot of people HATE the rule that healing counts as a LR. Frankly, a lot of people think that the rule should be removed. Quite unnecessary don't you think? Sure, that there are people waiting for the new round, but healing for a LR conflicts with the T's LR. Here is a scenario, a T was free-damaged to 8 health and his LR is shot for shot. Don't you think its quite unfair? Why not even allow warden's to bypass the rule of healing counts as an LR.

Thanks for your time,

i agree with you 100% on this type of scenario, i can see healing in order to prolong the game being against rules, but something like this seems fine to me and unfair to the T's lr

The specific rules passage that causes all of this confusion is this:
Once the guards have completed the activity, you will be killed. An example would being shot for shot, you cannot run off to the medical facility to heal first. If you do run off the act of healing is considered the last request and once healed you will be shot.

Its been a little while, but this is how Cryptex explained it to me when I asked:
If the person says LR is S4S, then runs off to heal, they can be killed when the heal is complete.
It is acceptible for the person to say "My lr is heal, then s4s" or something similar. They can then heal and then do s4s.

Basically, they must announce the entire LR in advanced.

Cryptex, please correct me or clarify further if I am mistaken!

It almost seems like on a case by case basis. On S4S, maybe one heal should be allowed, but on CT soccer or something, obviously no heals are needed.

However, if we make a list, things are too complicated. If we make healing always allowed, it delays the round, keeping it as it is makes LRs hard.

HALP!

And, by the way Crazy, you might have misinterpreted him. With that logic, my LR could be:

CT Soccer, then heal, then spray contest 2 winners, then m4 30 seconds.

If announced that would be allowed, so I think you might have a logic difficulty there.

Sounds like a Personal Problem, but no really it should be a drop box problem. Not an everybody problem.

Oprah was the one who killed said t in the example for the record.

you always use that quote on problems:(

Once you have assembled all of the remaining guards in a location of your designation, you may command them to perform a single game or task of your choosing. You can have the guards participate in any activity that the warden may order during a typical round.

The LR is a game/task of the prisoner's choosing to attempt to eliminate as many of the remaining guards as possible.
The rule is they can only have 1 LR, which means 1 game/task for the guards to complete. Pretty obviously having several games/tasks violates this rule.

However, the T healing is not a task for the guards to complete, it is just a step in completing the game of the T's choice (Obviously for games where there is a chance of the T dying from injuries during the game). If the T announces a game, but then runs off to heal without announcing it first, the T is just wasting time from the LR, and the heal replaces his announced LR.
Games which can instant-kill the T if the T participates, or games where there is no danger to the T, obviously this step is not necessary.

Yea, some of the rules seem confusing/conflicting, but use common sense when intrepreting them, and try to intrepret all of them at once (don't ignore a rule if it doesn't agree with your intrepretation). If all else fails, ask Cryptex or PM Beta and they'll clarify!!! (In actuality, asking BRK would be more useful than PM'ing Beta, but PM Beta is the default solution for any problem! :P )

I don't think you can just add "Heal" before a LR and get passed the rule. The rule specifically says in example " An example would being shot for shot, you cannot run off to the medical facility to heal first. If you do run off the act of healing is considered the last request and once healed you will be shot.". It says you cannot do it first, and you only get 1 last request. I think its pretty much set in stone and there is no gray area in this rule. However, I will not say I agree with it or not because there are pros and cons to each side. While the t may heal first, this will open the door to exceptions like healing between every round, etc. I think this situation rarely comes up and isn't a large problem on the server, considering all of the larger problems.

Okay, the rules clearly state you can have one LR, and adding heal before shot for shot makes it 2 requests so that is not allowed. If that was the case people would say "S4S, then octotag, then m4 30 seconds" and that wouldn't work.

Anyway, back on the topic. I don't think the rule should be removed because this way the T has to be creative in his LR and think of something he can do with his health. It just wAstes time going to heal every LR.

Here's a fact:
No one wants you to heal when 38 dead players want to play.
You'll get another chance at a LR as you continue your gameplay on eGO's Jail.

1) Don't rebel.
2) Pray to the Gods you don't get free damaged.
3) Win at everything forever.
4) ???
5) Profit!!!

Can someone point me to the Con section of taking 30 seconds to heal before LR?

Seriously, I can think of multiple wastes of time that occur on any given round that, when added up, exceeds the time used running to heal before a last request. Did people grab their pitchforks and chase after the terrorist running to heal before this rule was implemented? Sure, no one likes being dead and waiting for a round to end so they can get back to playing, but to make a spectacle at the terrorist running to heal and crying blasphemy against it as though it is the sole reason for their boredom and aging skin is turning a non issue into something that has to be regulated. People are taking their frustrations from being dead because they were freekilled, lost a game, rebelled, etc., and pointing it at something that at one point was trivial but has now turned into the call to arms for crusading against infidels' pilgrimages to heal.

I just go ummm and run into heal and then type my LR in there.

People waiting around is hardly an excuse when people pick LRs that take up until lockdown, like CT soccer or story time. Just let them heal, jeez. In most cases, the heal is right next to where S4S takes place anyway.

This is a rule I wrote and I see absolutely no reason to change. LR is an awesome thing to earn, but it is not meant to be a vacation from the fact that you have a whole team of dead prisoners waiting to respawn. The rule as it stands is simple and requires very little cognitive ability to interpret, you must limit yourself to a single request to hasten the end of the round. If you have few hit points left entering your LR, be tactful and chose some activity that poses a limited physical threat. Opening this rule up for reinterpretation or debate poses little or no benefit to the playing experience of those in the server.
I will leave this thread opening for the members' debate and discussion--but understand this rule serves the greater good of the server and is not on our list of rules to reevaluate.

Well i blame the Cts on the fact that they take a ungodly amount of time deciding what to do and wasting time, just in the end to lose it all!

Psst...hey T's...want to learn a secret trick?

Ask the CT's for M4 and 30 seconds...then during those 30 seconds RUN TO HEAL!!!

Gasp...can it really be so simple??????

The rules are the summary of tens of thousands of hours poured into the jail server and each one is carefully and frugally researched by a team of trained hand puppets. Ok maybe not, but trust leadership. They've spent lots of time toying with and figuring out this stuff so that you don't have to.
