Enough! This is just wow. I want to speak with euro and jordan in vent tonight. If any more of this continues I will moderate the thread. If you disagree come see me in vent or send me a pm.

I will not be able to arrive in vent tonight due to my euro timezone, but I'll send my apology about being overly in edge about this which has lead to aggressiveness.

It would help to know what times and channels you are normally on in vent.
I have my own opinions on this subject, but I don't see the need to have them taken out of context or interpreted as attacking anyone.
Instead, I will summarize my main thoughts.
1. Clan recruiting should seek quality, but not at the cost of number of recruits.
2. I do not agree with giving away items, but I respect the opinions of those that choose to do so.
3. Open debate is good and healthy in any organization or society.
4. I like bacon.

Im fairly certain there were allot of suggestions for recruitment's but it seems the thread was deleted. Im not changing my tune because a mod has made a suggestion as most others have. A forum is a place of discussion and those that cannot speak maturely probably shouldn't allowed to post. As i commented on the previous thread, all replys that were not along side the OP of the thread were deleted. Not so cool if you ask me, but meh, ive only been here for a few months. It is on that one person donating to give out hats yes. Place yourself in recruits shoes...if you wanted that hat, and wanted to join solely for that hat...despite replys....wouldn't you still attempt to join? The ones chiming in were having harmless fun and everyone has there jollys. If something like that sets you off...your welcome to make a discussion to overcome the issue....straight up orders are a bit far out and unacceptable by most. O yeah...forgot to say....IMO

I give away 100 hats to new recruits.
75 of those recruits play here for awhile and slowly float away.
15 of those recruits stay for awhile, post on the forums, talk it up on vent and make a few new friends, and become fine admins.
10 of those recruits become very active, posting, venting, irc'ing, trolling (NO, THATS MY JOB) helping with recruiting, giving ideas for their division, start training other admins, helping with events. Basically an all around great asset.
1 of those recruits becomes part of leadership and the clouds part and rainbows (with skittles falling from them) blanket the sky.
Same thing happens without giving hats.
Either way, it's all about bringing new people in, who really cares how it's done as long as no spycrabs or ninjas are harmed.

I agree with what Sabion said to some extent, but think of it this way: giving items to people who join is better than not having them join at all. Why is this? Well, at least if they join they could find something about us that they didn't know before, and thus like the community and stay. If they never join then they're not going to stay, so I don't have a problem with this type of exposure to eGO.
EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to say that we should be supporting each other (as long as we're not encouraging hacking or putting down other clans through poor sportsmanship) in this recruiting effort. We need more members right now, as our division hasn't been doing that great over the past few months, so getting people to join is a good thing.

Not exactly going agree/disagree with this, but all I'm going to say is this:
Members should "bribe" pubs with all the great things that we have in eGO. i.e. Support for many different games, awesome servers, helpful/fun community, a place to call home. In case anyone forgot that.
