Cannot play tf2 anymore

Whenever I attempt to play tf2 it comes up with a message saying that the steam servers are too busy at the moment to handle my request. Ive tried reinstalling but it comes up with the same message. I've never had this problem with windows but when I recently changed to mac I've been getting that message, any help?

I dunno, but you might try over in Tech Help They will probably have better answers than in general division discussion.

I would also suggest the tech help forum, although I've noticed that happens just prior to a client update. I'd reboot, restart Steam, and check your games for updates.

what flippy said usually when it happens on my steam games the game needs updated but hasn't started updating yet....although it sometimes happens to my non steam single player games i bought through steam... usually rage clicking eventually makes it go XD but since its tf2 it prolly just needs updated

alright so the problem didnt go away so i decided to reinstall steam all together and now its taken 10 hours just to download tf2 to around 47% so far, when it would usually take about 30 minutes, im baffled at the moment

Try this:

Go to settings and change your location. Try running the game now.

i tried that last night and kept getting the same message that the server was busy

Lol this always happens around Christmas, server are overloaded, not much can be done till all the chitlens go back to school and stop buying videogames.
