PC video editor?

Anyone know a good video editor akin to Final Cut Pro that is PC compatible? Something that has a lot of effects would be cool too. I got a camcorder for the holidays and wanted something to edit my stuff with.

erm would you use Premier Pro? Premier Pro CS4 is the newest 32bit one

Adobe After Effects is what you're looking for, you don't get much better than it. Premier should always be used with after effects but after effects can be used on it's own.

Sony Vegas its easy to use and has lots of effects.

AVS Is a decent program if you want I could make a youtube video that shows all it has for you. (using it of course.) I have already made a number of videos using it. There is about 35 effects in total that can cover a segment or all of a clip. There are text options, and many ways to enhance your video. You may edit the frame rate using it, and turn it into any sort of file needed. If something does not work with it Avs also makes a program called Avs remaker. The program lets you change any file into another form quickly.

The only problem I have with it is: When in the editor it is difficult to quickly cut segments off of clips. For this I usually go to video Remaker and use it to cut the segments off. Though the video editor is much more precise for this going down the very millisecond you want: 00/00/00 - Minutes/seconds/millisecond

I love Final Cut Pro but when on a PC Sony Vegas has a flow that I like, it's almost a nice as Final Cut Pro but not really!

After effects can be used to make everything on it's own, it's not just for intro's which is a common misconception.
