ok I'm Canadian and currently have ROGERS as my ISP.

but when searching around online, I found a company called "TekSavvy" that offers Cable internet to the Toronto Area for much cheaper and unlimited bandwidth.

So I called ROGERS up to Cancel with them and switch. Of course they didn't want me to. So they offered me this deal... 30% off my TV cable a month, 30% off internet a month and 15$ off my cell phone for a month (for a 2 year period)

they also upgraded me to their "Extreme Plus" connection.

Code:
Extreme Plus (ROGERS):
Download Speed: 25 Mbps (although I get on average 36 Mbps)
Upload Speed:           1 Mbps
Monthly usage:        125 GB

.....so what is your deal with your ISP?

Note: Despite my deal... I have to come to terms with the fact that I "Sold out to the man." by taking ROGERS deal. :(

Mine is horrible.

Code:
Download Speed:                   1.5 Mbps
Upload Speed:                     1 Mbps
Monthly Usage:                    Unlimited

Code:
Download Speed:                  50 Mbps
Upload Speed: A laughable 2-5 (depending on its mood) Mbps
Monthly Usage:                    Unlimited

Ya.

Code:
Download Speed:                   50 Mbps
Upload Speed:                     10-15 Mbps
Monthly Usage:                    Unlimited
Obviously not a consistent 50, more around 35~40.

Code:
Download Speed:                   6 Mbps
Upload Speed:                     .75 Mbps
Monthly Usage:                    Unlimited

Was meant to have 24Mbps but the ISP said we can't have that speed+TV at the same time :facewall:

Code:
Down: 25Mbit
Up: 4Mbit
Monthly usage: "Fair use" may be reduced speed after 100GB

Code:
Download Speed:                   50 Mbps
Upload Speed:                     10-15 Mbps
Monthly Usage:                    Unlimited
Obviously not a consistent 50, more around 35~40.

Why obviously? Mine is consistently just above 50Mbps, and that's what we pay for.

He says this because most ISPs tell you 50, and that is a burst speed MOST of the time. Also, in the evenings, speeds will usually drop. Try downloading a large file, wait about 30 seconds, take the number your downloading at and multiply it by 8. If your downloading from a host that can max out your bandwidth, that will be your constant rate.

DL = 15 Mbps
Up = 0.5 Mbps recently up to 1.0 Mbps
Usage = 100GB

Shaw Cable, its a joke. But that also West Coast Canada and the available options. Hell when I first got the plan, I could get any DL or Upload speed I wanted that was available. Now they slowly chip away at the defined level of service until it is worthless.

DL=50mbps
up=5mbps
usage=unlimited

on the east coast of Canada and my speed is very consistent. and since it isnt cable based it is not effected by the time of day or the amount of people on locally.

Code:
Downstream Speed: Up to 6.0 Mbps

Upstream Speed: Up to 512 Kbps

Monthly Usage: Unlimited

As far as i know.

Ya I heard in the News they just began enforcing bandwidth usage. Sucks man. It's a money grab.

Whats new though with very little for internet providers in B.C. we get overpriced service and way overpriced premiums. Seems to be more than just internet service and TV service but anything these companies can get away with.

I have pretty slow cable atm- fast enough to get what I need done (just not fast enough for my taste!). The only thing that's really keeping me with this ISP is the fact I get unlimited bandwidth to spend on whatever- and they have no put any blocks on the line!

well this is mine, its awesome lol... gotta love living 30 miles away from Comcast HQ haha.Just Sayn

ISP: Shaw Communications

Download: 10.0 Mbps

Upload: ~1-2 Mbps

Monthly Usage: ~150 GB

But it's only like $25/month, so I can't complain.
