Seriously? They're actually putting Sledgehammer in charge of numbered sequel? I thought they were just going to give them "Call of Duty: In Space", not the keys to the franchise. Is Activision taking crazy pills or something?

I'm pretty positive it was IW's call.

They're probably just tired of it and want to sit back and count their money.

Seriously? They are already making number 3??

Its MODERN warfare, keep making sequals to it and its going to turn into a stupid future warfare kinda thing. I cant wait to kill some nazi's and terrorist's with my akimbo laser guns!!!!

I'm sure it will be a "smash hit". Just like the past 3-4 CoD games that were launched.

If Activision keeps acting up like this they're gonna have Better Business Bureau boot ALL THE WAY up their collective butts. You can't just fire someone because you don't want to pay them.

Meh, I don't care. If MW3 comes out, I'm getting it. Hopefully it will be able to run on my PC.

First, IW is almost non-existent now. So many of the staff quit their positions that IW is now just a shell of their former self. So Activision probably had no choice but to hand off the development of the game to another studio. Second, key members of Activision have stated they are doing a CoD game every year, which is why they have 2 development studios (or had, I suppose, it the better term). Each game gets about 2 years worth of work and is released. But you can't really blame Activision for doing that, since the basic law of economics states that there is no reason for supply without demand.
In reality, we only have ourselves to blame for extremely frequent and sometimes unfinished games being released ahead of schedule. Gamers (all platforms) are constantly wanting new games to play, so Activision is just filling the void. Even their pricing structure (which I hate) can only be blamed on the consumer. If gamers had taken a stand and not bought any DLCs or even boycotted the increasing price of games, it would have forced studios to provide moderate support without cost (maybe not on the level as a DLC, but honestly does 5 new maps warrant your $15 dollars?).

But anywho, I'm pleased they have Raven Studios working on the multiplayer. I powered through the entire game of Singularity (7 hours straight in my chair... yes it's kind of silly) and I immensely enjoyed the game, so if MW3 will have just half of what was shown off in Singularity it should be an enjoyable experience.

Infinity Ward is smart they're finally deciding to step down from CoD, Activision still has to learn though. Activision needs to just let cod go and start doing other things.

honestly id love to see this game fail

but 13 year olds on xbox live will probably not let that happen

for the sake of art this game needs to die right here...theres only so much of a good thing...and actually it hasn't even been remotely good since cod4

so i hope either

A) gamers actually stop being stupid and not buy this probably crapile cookie cutter shovel ware of a game

or

B) another studio actually worthy of attention releases some awesometastic game that completely overshadows this over hyped piece of crap series

as for most of IW leaving I wouldn't blame them who wants to be apart of basically destroying a once great series that your probably had a hand in creating and making a name for your self...the way i see it id be looking for a new job so i can say i worked on call of duty 2...not Call of Duty 57 1/2 Future ops of Blue Korea in space chapter 2

Meh, if its better then mw2, ill be happy... CoD4 was one of the best ones,

CoD1/UO > CoD2 > CoD4 > Black ops > Mw2

I really wish one of these games wouldn't sell well so we could move onto something else and see what they could make, guitar hero finally failed after like 9 iterations. It doesn't seem like it though, since every xbox player has the game pre-ordered the day its announced since it's basically you either play the new cod on multiplayer or you don't play multiplayer.
