Hey guys, this is basically for the leadership but everyone can see it. I used to have a GarrysMod server back in the day and I really enjoyed it so I was wondering if I could buy a server and call it eGO. I was also wondering who else would be interested in GMod also and if someone would want to help set it up. I've ran my own servers before so I'm used to it all. Let me know what you think, and maybe someone in leadership contact me on steam. Don't have a mic atm. Thanks

If you bought your own server and considered using it for eGO I'd be surprised if they would agree. For one if you own the server you become instantly an eGO rank minimum for that server, meaning without admin training you could have eGO powers since the game has to be linked to MAUL.
Also the community of Gmod has been talked about alot within eGO, with the fact that anyone can pretty much bring a server down without hacks it's going to be hard to regulate this. But if you can work out a way to overcome these problems there shouldn't be any reason why this can't take place. I recommend putting an idea like this in the Dropbox forum.

eGO likes to have there own servers to regulate and use.
GMOD takes a whole box instead of bunch of servers.

No it's not very expensive though. I just think the game is a lot of fun on role play. I mean the server would be just for fun and could be a way to get new people for CSS because like everyone that plays it has CSS. I don't see this as me getting admin for anything, I just see it as another donation to the group and it can do us a lot of good in CSS! And with the hacking thing, I had my own server for a few months and never had anyone bring it down. I had RP on it and it fills very quickly when you get only a few people in there. People love the game. I just think it would be a lot of fun.

eGO doesn't allows for people to buy and "donate" their servers so to speak.

but i like the game its fun.

yeah if you bought css and gmod together it's 24.99 when css is 20. so if you got them together you'd save a bit but yeah it's 10 bucks for gmod.

Leadership has generally refused to add a Gmod server as to the amoutn of lag and other problems in the game to make a server. This would be better off in the dropbox, but I don't think they would say yes.

You can do anything you want, as long as you don't use anything related to eGO without counsel permission.

Also, this topic would be much more effective if posted in the drop box.

You can get a server but remember you must not advertise it in eGO's name.

i have Gmod but i bought it with TF2.
i find Gmod real fun but get annoyed cuz the people who say the vehicles are drivable but turn out to be props -_-
