I would but it's 1/20 times that any1 else is actually on a speex channel, pointless to get on at all. All i get is more lag when I log on.
There's actually an easy solution for that, but I know you won't want to hear it.
GET A REAL COMPUTER, NOT A MAC!
Seriously speaking though, there are often people in the Speex room (for us, Room 3, if I remember right). The typical primetime problem is this: Room 4 is rated R, so it's where most of the action is. Rooms 1-2 are used because they're havens from the shenanigans of Room 4. Room 3 gets stuck in the middle.
Since people keep complaining about this in the Drop Box, I'll say it once and for all: there are no plans to switch to Speex from GSM in the near future. Yes, everybody could use Speex and be able to talk in any room. But the sound quality is very poor, and to pay for a 300-man server and not fully use it because a small group (what, 8% typically?) doesn't have optimal hardware isn't quite fair to the majority. When we need to pull a Mac user into the Leadership room, we always have to set up a new channel and go in there. The Speex rooms were set up to be accommodating; hop into a room, and people will join it.
Sometimes I feel like rooms get very quiet when I join them...that's not how it's supposed to be. Just because my name, C-Whit's, or anyone else's appears at the top of the channel doesn't mean that people need to be shy.
And yes, Blasphemy, I thought it was brilliant to post a Vent comment about coming into Vent as well...
