I completely agree to the OP. The past months the server quality has been degrading. We're also losing players on Avalanche for ex. The server is now on 54 on gametracker, it used to be in the top 5. Avalanche is also one of the worst hit servers by the lag/disconnects. If the server providers don't fix this we'll be losing lots of players on our servers. Maybe we even need to change providers? Just some food for thought.

No it doesn't but seems every other thread gets locked out. Pretty sad when members who contribute to this organization can't even openly voice there opinions in a General Section of a forum, without Advisors locking the threads cause they don't want to hear people being negative, last I heard forums were a place for OPEN discussion. When I was advisor I know my role was to listen to our members and relay their feelings along to leadership. I don't see this happening as much any more.
But go ahead, keep "ignoring" or "brushing the problem under the table" See how long your contributors keep donating to servers that don't even stay open or full.
This game is what created eGO and now it seems like we are sacrificed for every other new game that comes out, and what always happens. The game gets old and boring and eventually the game is phased out. DOD:S still prevails and holds a steady following. How many other games do you see three years down the road still have the same members playing regularly?

I completely agree, and the main portion of my gripe above in this thread was the idea that eGO is using somewhat of dictatorship methods, silencing people. I have been told "post it in the appropriate forum" meaning the eGO admins private forum. I do that and still get shut down, only in private by leadership. It gets old.
The fact is that I am very busy spending countless extra hours at work (setting up a new unit) and finishing my bachelor degree, so the little time I find to play now, I want good servers with people who either don't give a *exponent deleted* or that constantly work to make things better, nothing in between. When you reach the in between you expect things to get better, but with the jerks that don't care at all.

Look I want kalt back as much as the next guy trust me..but this thread has nothing to do with kalt..

I can understand what YSD means and this is what discussions are all about. To start a discussion and say dont go off side ways is wrong as we all do that when we talk, it should be acceptable here where we are all responsible and have our own views. Yes I am sorry Kalt closed but Argentan is no substitute.

Suggesting Kalt should be reborn totally redirects the attention from what this thread is suppose to be. This thread is talking about the lack of server quality. Not the maps. Not how we can get more members. But the affects of the server quality. Brining kalt back and still having random auto-disconnects in 30 every hour will NOT solve this issue. This thread isn't here as a "how to get numbers up" but instead "how this issue is hurting us" The solution to the server problems ISNT KALT. What maps we're playing isn't the purpose of this thread. It's the SERVERS.
Please, please no more map talk or I'm going to start loosing respect for people...

The relevant people know the problem and I assume are trying to fix them so it really doesn't matter what else is said they Know the problems , we can only hope that they can fix it without losing any more players. It is so disheartening seeing our servers empty most of the time, I play for around 6 hours a day mainly now on Avalanche and see players come on for a few minutes complain of the lag then leave. All we want is for our servers to be the best .

The DoD:S servers are, and will continue to be looked into. We rely on council for this, and as we all know real life takes precedence and, although rare, sometimes the servers take a hit when the unfortunate snowball of work related leave / increased work load / and sickness strike at inopportune times. I'm sure you guys realize that DoD:S leadership plays on our servers as much as you do and we of course want them to run well. We are always aware of problems and do everything in our power to correct what we can.
Annihilator, we look at all feedback on our servers. We knew Kalt was going to be a tough call and we explained thoroughly our decision to make the switch to Argentan, both in forums and divisional meetings. Every time we see a new post or thread about it, what more can be said that has not already been stated? The only thing that results is conflict and animosity between our members.
Now, I would beguile you by saying that Argentan did as well as we had hoped. We also said when we started that we had not abandoned Kalt, and that if things did not work out, we would not mind giving it another try. For the time being, we would like to get more major issues with servers worked out before making any large changes.
DoD:S has never been about rule with an iron fist. Our division is the foundation that EdgeGamers was built on, and we try to run it in a way that pleases our members. Everything done within the division is a direct result of member influence, be it events we run, server plugins we add, people we promote, and decisions on what servers we run. Sometimes, things don't work out and it takes time to get them back to where they need to be.
These problems will pass and it will be backing to fragging each other as usual shortly, you can count on it.

I cant speak for everyone but the reason i gripe in the forums and in Vent is because my opinions will at least be heard. We can all complain about the server issues or the lack of our beloved Kalt but our leadership has to make the hard decisions, put up with our complaints, and listen to the even higher ups. Spray and Jeod [and Angrei] are too humble to admit it but their hands are as tied as ours in some situations. Like Compton said at least were lucky enough to have the best leaders [and former leaders] and be in the best division in the know multiverse. Even if it takes a while well have our servers fixed but that doesnt mean we cant whine about it! :laugh:
