Shogun 2: Total War

ME!!! I played the original Shogun and I spent so many hours, it would be on my top 10 list of games played for xfire if I had xfire on when I was playing it.

getting it for my b-day which is like a week or so away and i can't wait i spent almost 100 hours in empire total war so i need something new :p

My father is going to buy it to my from a store close to us andi cant wait till i get it. :D

Don't get me wrong, Shogun 2 looks amazing and I love the ambiance and atmosphere of the game, but at the same time the era is one I haven't studied much, so it doesn't garner as much interest for me.

That's why I love Empire and Rome so much.

At the same time though...it looks amazing. At this time I can't (money issue) but down the road I will more than likely grab it.

Spitfire, it's a very interesting era to study in Japanese history. Definitely read up on it, as this game will give you a perspective history books never could.

Oh I plan to. It is an era I want to know more about. I would play Shogun before I play medieval.

Although medieval does have a good looking Middle-Earth mod...

P.S. I'm hoping for Rome 2 next :)

took me all day yesterday to download it, an hour to "decrypt files" and then...."Updating (8 hours 12 min)"

:(

My computer has so bad graphic card that its unplayable and i have to wait till friday until i get it upgraded.

Was quite surprised it ran on ultra by default, Good job GTX260! ^^

D/ling, installing, and activating all the codes for the limited edition was relatively painless (16GB d/l and install took only 2 hrs).

One thing I'm liking is that the AI is ruthless. They are quite cutthroat and will declare war on u en masse whether you're careful or not. It would be wise to quickly fortify your provinces b/c at any sign of weakness...they'll strike.

The ai is amazing. I did a 4 v 4 battle against computers and they all went into one spot and made a mass of soldiers.

although i hate auto resolve i basically have to fight any battle manually that i have close to equal numbers despite the fact my army could contain samurai class units, veteran units and their contains the basic fresh recruits and i somehow lose when i have Superior warriors, although then i manually fight and i completely destroy them and lose barely any >.> not that i don't like fighting manually but i dont want to fight EVERY little battle

Naku, I think the lesson from that is:

"If you want to get things done right, you gotta do it yourself!"

Which does suck when it should be an easy fight.

Ive restarted about 20 times already. I dont get past 5 years. Its terrible. I had 3 provinces and a metsuke of mine converted a total of 1500 troops in 5 close provinces and I took all those over. I see what I thought was a small 'rebel' force. I thought it was small because i have only encountered them at the begining of campaigns and I usually out number them by 200. So I got a small army of 600 and am like DIE SUCKER!! And I attack the 'rebel' force and it says 1800. And im like WTF. I then go on to lose all 5 of those provinces and in the process of being backstabbed by my vassal.
