Alright, so I recently purchased a 64gb Crucial Sata III SSD and its worked perfectly the whole time.... Perfectly except for when I use firefox. I will be typing and all of a sudden everything freezes up and I will continue to type. Then all the text that I had just typed will come up and it will be normal again... This process repeats at least 2-3 times a minute... I cant watch youtube videos cause it freezes up all the time... Its not just typing.... its everything.

My OS is on my SSD, and this didnt happen before on my old 160gb 5400rpm old piece of hunk HDD.

Can anyone fathom anything to help me fix this issue.

What settings do you have for Virtual Memory? You may be able to disable it entirely and fix your issue.

Let me know if this helps you or if I can be of further assistance.

Hmmmm... explain this Virtual Memory to me.... I'm afraid I don't know what that is. :S

Unless your reffering to it as something different than I do.

To put it simple, virtual memory is something that mimics RAM and places it on your hard drive.

To find your virtual memory in Windows 7, take these steps:

  1. Go to "Start" (or press the Windows key)
  2. Right-Click "Computer"
  3. Open "Properties"
  4. (Left side) Open "Advanced system settings"
  5. Go to tab, "Advanced"
  6. (Under Performance) Open "Settings"
  7. Go to tab, "Advanced"
  8. (Under Virtual memory) Open "Change"
Easy method:
  1. Go to "Start"
  2. (In the search area) Type "Advanced system settings" (without quotations)
  3. And follow steps 5 through 8

EDIT: Take a screenshot of that window and post it here if you don't understand anything.

mmkay... not sure what i should set the settings to though.... i've never done this before so yeah... =S

Just a heads up.. might wanna check on firmware.. >.> altho VM could be a culprit too.

Hard-set your pagefile to 512Mb min AND max.

(un-check let windows automatically adjust)

Let me know your results.

Ok, hard set it to the windows recommended ammount. Same for max and minimum.

Let me know how it fairs.

Also...checking for firmware updates for both your hard drive and your motherboard/HDD controller is not a bad idea. Highly recommended even, if you're comfortable with ROM flashing.

Well windows aero stopped working also. says one of the mirror drives are messed up.

i've updated my SSD when i got it. I'm probably going to see if there is another update, and then re install my OS afterwards. its feeling kind of sluggash.

EDIT: Drivers are up to date.
