I don't know how to, no harm in that, but want to know so if I see something odd, I can report it.

what is the proper way to record something and such, and where, generally anyways within the steam folders, would I find the demo.

thanks all

Well heres the general rundown... plus you'll want to visit the [link=http://www.edgegamers.us/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?52]Ban Request form Sticky!
[/link]

First and Foremost...

•Make sure you have the "Developer Console" enabled which is activated by hitting the "~" key aka tilde.
•To turn this function on... at the main menu of DoDs goto Options then the Keyboard Tab then click the Advanced button near the bottom and Check off "Enable Developer Console (~)"

Once in game...
•Spectate the person you wish to demo... note* (to toggle between 1st and 3rd POV's hit your Crouch button)
•Bring up the console by hitting the ~ key and type without quotes... record "playersname" -- using the players in game name makes it easier to find the file later.
•Make sure to type sb_status in the console after the demo starts recording... and please leave the console up for a few moments so it is recorded
•Once satisfied with the demo bring the console back up and type... stop
--- which will end the demo. note* Please make sure demo is 5mins in lenght at least

•To find the location of the demo goto: C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\**YourSteamUserName**\day of defeat source\dod and the file will be called playername.dem

ah man, great post!!!

you should have a sticky somewhere with this, since its new to me, and Ive been dod-ing for years!

If there are no admins on the servers, see if one is online in your steam friends and ask them. It's always best to get at least an eG in these situations, preferably an eGO.
