even tho its getting pretty high its still a pretty good profit to buy energy for crowns, as long as you run tier2 anyway.
i can buy 100 eg for 4k and make 8-11k with just 80 energy used and thats before selling mats. also if you're doing jelly king runs this means you can use those gems to buy a weapon (sealed sword or antigua) and either sell it or make a faust/avenger/silversix or something then sell those for like 1500 energy.

it just takes longer to save up that money for the recipe or equipment that you want, but you can still get there. thats basically what f2p games are always about. take the time to get to the top or pay for it up front

also three more tokens and I'll have enough jelly tokens for that sword part. Junk you have the faust recipe right (I got all other mats money and energy)? I figure since I use elemental bombs, a faust will be better to complement my bomb

i try to sell to players, but its tough - it isn't worth selling to npcs...they just don't sell for anything (i think this should be changed)

You'll hafta check the vendor that sits in the rest floor of the tiered dungeons. Basil is his name I think. He sports random recipes everytime you enter a tier dungeon.

Yeah sometimes you find a good recipe from the random dood. My armor and helmet upgrades can't be purchased from Haven. I never see them.

Yup, I passed up my 4* armor recipe once in favor of picking up the cold iron carver and it was awhile before I saw it again. So the next time I came across him selling it, I ended up selling my Angelic Helm and my Brute Jelly Shield just to secure the money tah get it. XD

I got stuck in a Deconstruction Zone with no exit, and within 5mins a GM helped me out with all my loot and heat. Awesome. +1 to Three Rings.

Hi everyone, I'd like to take a moment and let you know what sort of new features to expect in Spiral Knights.

We've had a great launch so far, lots of new players have had a chance to experience the world of Cradle and more are emerging from their pods every day. It's quite exciting! Better yet, response has been very positive from the worlds outside Cradle known as the Internet. We look forward to more of it.

One of the features we've heard loud and clear from our community has been a need for a better means of trading. We recently added the trade channel in chat and today made a change that broadcasts trade chat across all instances of Haven. We do however have something bigger in the works.

While no specific time frame can be stated at this time, please know that we are developing an Auction House where unbound items may be bought and sold. It should make finding the gear, materials and recipes you need much easier.

Speaking of items, you should be seeing some new ones in the very near future.

We will also be expanding upon the story of the Spiral Knights and the lost members of the Alpha Squad.

Beyond that we are hard at work on new worlds for you to explore, filled with new monsters and dangers. The Clockworks are an ever-changing world and we are committed to ensuring that there will always be some pocket of the world left unexplored, some perilous quest in need of a brave knight.

ok so the piercing sword is AMAZING - super great vs beasts and those ever so annoying fiends.
ALSO im interested in the brandish line. they can have normal+shadow/elemental damage just like the avenger/faust except a little less power and more speed, so im wondering how comparable the 2 are.

so those who are not fans of the faust/avenger speeds, you can get that line and still get all the bonus damage but with more atk spd and it looks like just a little bit less atk pow. im going to get one of them and compare it to my avenger - might be my new swords also! crazy crazy
