Hey guys, I just have a few questions about the game in general:
Ventrilio: I'm just wondering, what exactly is it used for, and how do I know which server is in which vent channel? The several ocassions that I've used it, everyone was either playing COD or on another server.
Pistol/Carbine Ammo: I'm just wondering why we have so few clips of pistol ammo? I actually use the pistols alot, especially when I'm a sniper on Anzio, and I'm just wondering why we have limited number of clips. I've ran out of pistol ammo many times and I would've found it useful if I just had a few spare clips, and especially for the carbines as it is almost as important as the rocket.
Training Server: I've had this idea a long time ago, but I never had the time for it, I was just wondering if we could set up a server specifically for training newbies, or giving our vets some extra experience. It'd have special stations for each class/weapon and I think we'd be able to take certain areas of each map to help newbies learn what to look for and stuff. I think it would also be fun as a little realism excersize, but I don't have the time to build the map all by myself...
cheating: Yes, I know that we aren't supposed to accuse anyone of cheating or hacking, but I'm just wondering is there anyway to check if someone is cheating, because some times, some players know exactly and never miss from a mile away. It might just be because I'm terrible at the game or they're extremely good, but I'd just like a way to make sure...
Binding Medic: How do I bind medic? I know to put it in the ` thingy, but I don't know what to type, could someone help me?
Forums: How do I get my e tag to show up next to each post?

Well, we do have DOD:S bootcamp, which was hosted last week which was a lot like you explained.

And the bind is "Bind key "say medic"

so for example I have

Bind x "say medic"

Vents just kind of a hang out spot. We use it to organize events, fill server, meet new people and just kinda chill.

I hate this too. People feel it gives an "unfair advantage" or makes the weapons "too cheap" or "unbalanced" but there's no real solid reason for it other then opinions and the fact "if it's not broken, don't fix it"

We do have a *new* bootcamp event being run. I wont be able to attend it for a few months due to school... >_<... but I don't believe it's intended to raise skill levels exponentially... Training server is a great idea; however, you only get better by playing with better players; however, if you have an idea that could make it worth wild. Please post it in the drop box (scroll to the bottom of the main forum page)

We have a dedicated group of "Demo Reviewers" that will review bans. While we don't openly accuse players of hacking we encourage people who feel someone is hacking to take a demo of it and send it into [email protected]

Forums: How do I get my e tag to show up next to each post?

you must first sign up to join one of eGO's divisions.

I am guessing you are joining the DoDS division so go here:

Read the following sections:
-User Names
-Clan Structure
-Becoming an =(e)=?
-Promotion

Next scroll down to find the Communication Recommendations section.
-Join the Main steam group
-Join the eGO DoDS steam group
-Join any other groups for which you play their games

Then scroll down to the next post and you will see Day of Defeat in big letters. Scroll down further and you will see a youtube video regarding how to locate your steam ID. After the second youtube video you will see the application template. Follow the instructions to submit it, and let me know if you have questions. Once you are accepted, you may show the =(e)= tag and wear it in game.

And it is quite fun to have a voice channel outside of the teamtalk limitation in the game.. especially when you are having little scuffle with a mate on the other team Also vent is a bit looser with talk.. since one of our server rules is no mic spamming non-game related stuff we isn't really the appropriate place for a good chit chat.. vent is where it is good for this.

Just to clarify a few things that I believe were not fully answered.

Vent - go to any DODS channel that has people in it, especially if you see a person who is in the server you are playing on.

Pistol/Carbine Ammo - The amount of ammo is what the game developers determined to be appropriate. EGO sees no need to change it.

cheating - If you suspect someone of cheating, go to spec and record a first person demo of the person and submit it under DOD ban request forum. The DODS request ban forum has more detail on this. Also you can contact an admin in vent or steam and ask them to record a demo or view a player, or to ban an obvious hacker.

If any player suspects another player they can tell admin in private admin chat, you type "u@ message " this is private and only admins can read this, in open chat the players can read this and they watch for admin to go spec. They then behave themselfs.

To record demo open console type record hacker101. Then spec player in first person. When u finish open console type stop. See ban request forum for more detail on this.
