Some funny things about jail.

As you all know, jail is a crazy, chaotic place. Have you noticed some things that don't logically make sense though?

1. Let's say freedays are given once every six rounds. This means in 24 rounds, four freedays will be given. That's 20 rounds that regular orders have been given. Yet every round there is at least one person that doesn't know the orders when they come out of their cell, and even MORE people that have to ask the warden to repeat himself! Logic would tell you if you hear something twenty times, at the exact same time every round, you would know when to listen. Granted, the orders are almost never the same, but they are given at the same time every round.

2. Going on this subject of forgetfulness, how often are the STs killed? Now, I know that a lot of times they are killed by complete accident. The CTs are on edge and a T rounds the corner, accidents are bound to happen, but that's not the situation I'm talking about. When the warden gives STs, who is listening? Constantly CTs are asking the warden, "Who is an ST again?". When, again, the STs are almost given every round, at the exact same time. Usually the warden will even announce that he's about to give STs, then he will call their name out, and say, "Those are the STs." Yet still people will ask, not even 10 seconds later, who are the STs?

3. I see this one happen many times. A CT is the last one left. There are two Ts shooting at him, but he's behind cover. There are a couple Ts that are obeying and sitting there, not doing anything. Logic tells us to get rid of the threatening Ts, then kill the ones that aren't even moving. But what happens almost all the time? While under fire, the CT will shoot the Ts that aren't even moving! I think this one pertains to score. With every T a CT kills, a little achievement firework goes off in their head that says, "Yay, you're the best at killing Ts." So the CT will go for the easier ones first.

4. The difference between crouch walking and shift walking. It really burns me when people are killed for not shift walking or not crouch walking because they do the opposite. What's the difference between them? You're going to same speed and you're holding down a button with them both. The only real difference is that if they pick up a weapon, their aim may be slightly better if they're crouched, but if they are shift walking, all they have to do is take a half second to crouch, so there's no real difference! It's like if you shot somebody because you told them to either jog, or run quickly, but not to a sprint.

This is all I really have for now, I may add some later if I think of them. Jail is a crazy psychological phenomena where even the brightest people can be made to look like they just hopped out of kindergarten.

The joys of jail :)

All valid points but its just part of jail. People join middle rounds and dont understand what they are doing, I know some CTs are fussy if they have said to "hit the railing" if you then stand with your face to the cell wall but they are just minor problems.

A personal pet hate is CTs without mics... why bother, if you have to give an order how can you possible do that without a mic. Sure try typing it but if its to drop a gun im sure the T will happily fire the round of their new gun into your "still typing" body :P

But overall its all fun and games :)

I like your brand of humor

We discussed this in vent last night... Ill add what I said then:
Some people will argue the smallest, most specific details, then the verry next round argue a similar topic with someone else, like so:
Someone else:You just said the wrong place, now half the team is dead
Response: "it's the same thing..."

When I play jail now, I never listen I just do what others do and kill the CT's whenever I can.

CT's fail hard 24/7

Just a fact of jail now.

Except me. Like tonight, (I am one of those CTs who actually pay attention) I killed Trace as he was rebelling. I wasn't one of those CTs who wait until half the CTs die to think "I should try and kill this guy". CTs most of the time don't pay attention thus leading to half the CTs dead all by knife kills.

Its all about listening and following rules...you do that, jail is fun...you don't...then ioprah gets freekilled by me...

Some stuff just gets me about jail. I've always been a person that wonders why people do the things they do. Why kill a person that has come out of their cell and is knifing their cell? What threat is he to you? In a case where there are 3 out of 4 Ts to die, and they are enclosed in a tight space, why the hell don't CTs check to see who is who? They just fire at whoever they want. I had that happens today in the server, not once, but TWICE. Illusionist had won and he was picking a winner. He picked the winner, I clearly said, "Kill everyone but this person." The person Illusionist picks immediately dies. So I said again, "Illusionist, pick someone else." He does, and I say my thing, and a DIFFERENT CT kills the other guy illusionist picked! Why!? What!? Well, trigger happy CT's doesn't help the situation,
But yep, jail is a phenomena of its own...

My logic in jail is if a T is not threatening your life, and the warden hasn't specifically told you to kill him you don't kill him. Example.

Orders: Shift walk backwards face cell etc, freeze by 5:05.

A player jumps at 5:02 and is and killed.

Why? It gets nothing done but frustrate the player because a CT either wants kills or is nit picky. I have pressed my spacebar when I thought i was typing on many occasions and have been killed for it. It's just not fun, which people forget they are supposed to be doing.

When I used to warden a lot I would start off my rounds saying, don't kill unless they threaten your life or I say so.

jumped alot of times by accident... everytime... no one killed me ...

a CT named nighthawk always want kills...

No one would listen to this anyways... :chair:

I'm pretty sure that crouch walking is a little bit slower than shift walking, though I may be wrong.

Other than that I agree. :)
