Hey guys

For some reason, my css launches very slow same as my TF2. I tried to verifie in cache, tried to defrag the game files, nothing helps for css. As for TF2, haven't tried it yet. But i really want this to be fixed. It worked on this computer before and it works on a way more older PC.

Thank u!!

Had the same problem on an older nf7 motherboard. Not only steam but a bit of lag in most tasks.

Go to the manufacturer of your motherboard and download the latest chipset drivers.
You should probably download the entire chipset package and install it.
If that does not help.
Update your video driver.
If that still does not help.
Run Glary's utilities, have it clean up your reg file, old temp files, etc and do a full defrag of the hard drive.

If that still does not work. But everything else is running great.
I would reinstall steam and all my games.

video card drivers are not the problem. I can't even update them lol. Some error says there installed wrong so i'd rather stay off again then losing stuff of my data. I think i have the latest chipset drivers aswell. Any way i can check that?

For the last option: all my games run great besides source games. Haven't tried to check DODs cause i hardly play that game.

THank u for fast reply! :D

Thinking you have something, and knowing you have something is two very different things.

The easy way to find out?
Go do what I said, and while installing, if it says a driver your installing is older than the one you currently have. Then you cancel the install and go to the next thing on the list.

If you "think" you have the most current one, I can almost guarantee you that you don't.

If you get this message then clearly there is at least a partial problem with it.
You will not lose anything.
Go download the latest video driver.
go into your device manager, right click on your video adapter and click uninstall.
Reboot, when your pc detects it upon reboot and wants to install it again, cancel it.
then run the video driver you downloaded before. Or as an alternative, take it to a pc shop and let them do the exact same thing and charge you $40+.

Please don't make me sorry for assisting you, by you being too lazy to act on it.
The time it takes to check versions, could be spent downloading the latest. The act of reinstalling the exact same driver, has more than once, corrected an issue.

Please don't take my being blunt as being rude. I love helping people that help themselves, the other guys? Not so much.

Defrag => all done

Vid card drivers, i will try this tomorrow because i have little time today. THanks for helping tough

Hey,

So far there is no improvement?

The video drivers is most likely not the problem, but still something you need to correct/update, to be sure, especially in light of the errors your getting with your current one.

If you've done all these things, there is only one thing left to do.
Reinstall Steam or at the very least delete the game that is slow to load and reinstall it.

I just realized you have not given any system details whatsoever.
Please list details. Btw what are you calling slow start times? From the time you click on CSS until the menu items show up is how long? 20 secs? a minute?
Long compared to what? How it used to load?

btw- did you update the chipset drivers from the motherboard manufacturer or from microsoft?
