I need a new power supply before I can upgrade my graphics card. If you know any good ones, can you link me? They need to have atleast 2 PCIs, and be atleast 500W. If you would like, you can go ahead and post links to graphics cards too (NVIDIA only!). Thanks eGO!

The sweet spot and a card I keep looking at over and over again myself.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162074&cm_re=560_ti-_-14-162-074-_-Product

This is only less than 1% performance difference between this and a 570 and its $130 cheaper.
I'm seriously considering buying this for myself.

See the benchmarks for this compared to others..
http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2011-gaming-graphics-charts/Gamer-Index,2673.html

do you have proof on this?

I really don't see a 336(?) core card being within 1% of a 480core card.....

i mean yea there is that chart, but all it shows in a heavilly OC'd 560 almost withing a percent of a reference 570. but in what? that chart has no context

This is why I ask for at least 5 benchmarks from different trustworthy
sources.

Apologies to Jigglez1, I realize the last 4 post have nothing to do with your question at all.

REPO,

I admit they are not near as credible and established as say places like hardwareDoken ran by 2 friends not quite old enough to drink wine with dinner, but TH ain't all that bad.

But since they've been around longer than virtualy anyone,
I for the most part trust what they say, I definitely don't think they made it up.

Just an FYI. When anyone reviews a part that they have purchased for personal use, or even for someone else, you can be fairly certain that you will not receive an unbiased review, because the person thinks it was a great product to begin with, else they would not have purchased it.

If you doubt the validity of the comparisons, or have questions, contact the author/website. I sincerely doubt it would still be up, if it was just made up.
The evidence is in the graph, unless they just pulled the figures out of the air, (not hardly)

And yea, why would anyone trust a website that has been around as long as you guys have been eating solid food, that has 38 Million hits a month, over a Million community members and operates in over a dozen countries?

Will a site of this size sometimes make a mistake?
Yes.

Will sometimes they receive bad information from a contributer?
Yes.

And if you can OC a card and get within 1% of a card that cost $130+ more in a game, this is a bad thing? Just the fact they can clock that well, is a good reason to consider one. Its a conspiracy I tell ya, a conspiracy.

Click 2 of the boxes and hit compare it shows you the FPS in each game.

Heh, so funny. Are you done acting like a child? Tom's is proven to be a little biased. Just ask anyone who actually knows something.

I would recommend a gtx 560 over a 570...570s are weak overclockers with weak vrms like the 590 (or so I have heard). 2 card limit is kind of disappointing, but most people will only upgrade to 2 cards before upgrading to a whole new card anyways. However, I would personally not get a galaxy. I would definitely go with a more reputable brand like eVGA or MSI myself.

Looking at the current price though, I see why you recommended it. I have not had any personal experience with Galaxy, any thoughts on them?

I'll ask the unbiased guru's at Doken.
Perhaps they can enlighten us. ;)

Dude.. its a joke and yes, I am a funny guy.

Does growing up in your view means giving you a free pass to basically distort, misrepresent, drop innuendo's or spread your bias without question because you read something, somewhere, by somebody?

No. Sorry, I can't do that.

Uhm your the one that responded with an off topic post. AGAIN.

Tom's is proven to be a little biased
Sources? providing links for references to your claims are helpful. If he's bias I have no idea which way he leans, as they are all over the place. Picking ATI, NVIDIA, INTEL, AMD, etc. etc. etc. Tom's hardware has probably faced more peer review than any other pc site in the history of the internet just because it was a pioneer, tech websites don't last 17 years by spreading falsehoods.

I didn't see a reference to where they listed that 560 as being over clocked at all?

REPO how do you know this, if it lacked any content, as you say?

I ask because I've never been crazy about any thing more than mild video card overclocking, usually the results are minuscule compared to the amount of power and heat generated by doing so and it does factor in a bit.

As for the tomshardware link you provided, there are 2 560s. One is the gigabyte windforce version which is overclocked to 900 mhz vs standard 822 mhz. They also have a reference 560 ti on the chart a little further down. The galaxy you linked to is only at 835 mhz, but I am sure it could come close to 900 mhz. I do not like the tomshardware overall charts. I prefer looking at the individual gaming performance myself. Though I think that is fairly accurate. Even if they are biased, comparison of 560 to 570 should be fine, right?

Huck, if you click on two of the cards and hit compare, it will show the individual stats for about 20 different games and benchmarks side by side.

I didn't want it to have to come to this, but ever since you've been posting here, you've been representing everything eGO is not. You've called other members names, argued completely off topic, and are trying to stab at our website. I don't know what your problem is, but it needs to stop. It's getting pretty ridiculous, especially for someone of your age.

As for the whole reflex and I being biased, where is your proof of that? Is it the fact that reflex and I have owned a slew of Intel and AMD processors? Or how about how we've collectively owned a graphics card from both AMD/ATI and Nvidia of the last 3 or so generations? Alright, enough about our own computers, what about the half a dozen builds I've done for friends and family? I've recommended strictly AMD processors, along with some AMD cards, some Nvidia cards for all of them. I'm not sure how many builds reflex has done, but I'm fairly certain he helped him with his brother's rig, which was running AMD last time I checked (may have changed).

About me and/or reflex being off topic, you were the one who essentially instigated an argument based off false assumptions and outdated material (referring the power supply recommendations).

Again, I don't know what your problem is. You're new here, and come in virtually swinging, and you expect people to listen to you/like you? That's not how it works. That's not what eGO is about, at all. I suggest you rethink your approach on your replies in this forum.

I'm going to report any further off topic posts by you, even if it it's slightly off topic. You need to stop, and action needs to be taken.

There is no age requirement for drinking wine.

I was just saying that it doesn't make any sense that a 384 core card would only be 1% behind a 480 core card. Fermi scales near-linearly, so it doesn't really make sense that the 560 is within 1% of a 570.

looking at other sites, the 560 is quite a bit behind the 570 (3dmark11):
http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-560-ti-review/19

TPU/anandtech/KG (unigine):
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_560_Ti/24.html
http://www.anandtech.com/show/4135/nvidias-geforce-gtx-560-ti-upsetting-the-250-market/15
(480~570, so you get the idea)
http://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/zardon/msi-n560gtx-ti-twin-frozr-ii-review-the-ultimate-560/4/(also has 3dm11)

So i'm not exactly sure how TH tested, but it seems something was up.

It's not so much that toms is biased, it's just that their testing methodology is kinda....strange.

And your entire post Po, is completely off topic yet your going to report me for off topic post?
How does that work again? If I post and its something that you disagree with its a flame, trolling or a Bait for you to attack because your uncertain of something or because its a counter point to what you may be saying?

I'm trying to help. What's helpful about your post?

I"m not swinging and if I remember correctly you, and you specifically, was the first to accuse anyone of being bias or name calling.
Not I.

You want to discuss something based on facts, keep to the facts don't embellish scenarios that do not exist, if they exist its in only in your mind. There is no conspiracy here. Sorry if I'm not a 15 yr old fan boy that hangs on your every word. I listen to everyone and I agree with much of what you both have to say, but the things I don't, I don't, and I'm not going to pretend to, because your overly sensitive to any opposing view.

Again apologies to the OP for the trolls that love to follow me around.

I post up a helpful link and for some reason, they feel the need to try to thread crap.
They've been doing it for every single post I've made up til now, but somehow, Po's the victim here.

Re, not sure, but if you check on compare it shows a FPS comparison, do they fall in line with other sites reviews of the card? How far off are they in results? Different cpu or platform? Honestly, it could be something as simple as driver.
Maybe he didn't use DX11?

Wow

I have to agree, it does seem like every post he's made one or both of you guys have gone out of your way to try to find fault with it. And I do find it odd that someone would threaten to report a post as off topic, while commiting the exact same offense.

Wow

However, i do think that these guys are entitled to their own opinion, but when all im hearing is one brand of hardware that gets a little suspicious. And personally, i believe that anyone who would buy a piece of software either already knows they like it and want it, or they are filthy rich. 17 year old kids cant be that rich.....

I'm sorry but I like to think that I do represent Ego favorably.
I've done nothing but try to be helpful and pleasant to everyone who's extended me the same courtesy and many who haven't.

Clearly in this instance, You do not speak for eGo.
You only speak for yourself. If I honestly thought you did,
I would have to re-consider being a part of this community.
Clearly you are not representative of all the great people that value differing points of view and look at our differences as something that makes us better, not less.
