Haven't really been myself lately, haven't been on BC2 or Vent and I even missed the meeting. Sorry about that, I've just been a little preoccupied lately. You see, I'm moving from Indiana back to California and I now own a 160lbs puppy that won't much enjoy the back seat for three days, oh, and I leave in three days. I think my hair is going gray from this, but, like MajorBadanov said "You gotta do what ya gotta do." So, on that note, is there anything worth stopping and seeing between here and there? I think I should see it now because I didn't stop anywhere on the way out here and If I have any say in it, this will be the very last time I move across the country. Let me know if you can think of anything or if you have any advice on dealing with the monster I call my dog, please.

Also just stop around everywhere on your trip lol whatever seems interesting to you just pull over and look around thats when I did over spring break me and my friends took a trip to D.C should have taking 10 hours but it took us 16 cause we stoped at every roadside thing we saw. lol

Chicago has some great food. Stay away from Iowa, it makes the trip boring until you hit Nebraska, but in western Nebraska it will look like Iowa. Enjoy the mountains if your going that way it has some great scenery. If you go north Wyoming is a bit of a drag. They have decent truck stop food. Also on the north pass Salt lake is fun, but a lot like Nebraska. Las Vegas if you hit it will be fun. They have a lot of great places to see. If you go the south route, Kansas City can be cool. I haven't been to Texas, Des lives there ask him he should know some places. Otherwise have fun with the trip. Also if you hit Omaha Nebraska, go to Johnny's cafe. Its a steak house that has served something like 3 different presidents, and the steak is good.

For the dog to your vet's office and see if you can't get a sleeping pill for him so you can drug him out when in the car so he isn't barking at everything and so he just stays calm. I think your biggest issue is going to be finding a motel that lets you keep a dog in the room. I don't really know of any great places to stop but it looks like Diezel covered that.

You could keep dog treats in your front seat and feed him them when he starts to go crazy.

Brilliant idea, I think i'll go to the vet today and see what she recommends for the trip. My original plan was to get him a new squeaky toy for the trip, but that probably would have ended with me driving into a bridge support beam somewhere late on day two. As far as the motels are concerned, I think I may be sleeping in the car with him. We found a pet friendly hotel in Denver, that has no pet friendly rooms left, naturally.

Thanks much for the kind offer, but we are stopping in Utah for a couple of days so we won't be stopping in the coolest city along the way...naturally. But if I ever do this again I'll stop in Vegas even if I only drive 2 hours the first day.

I'd love to knock one of the cats in the head, because all he does is meow to get out of the carrier. Moving with dogs is actually pretty easy, if you can find a pet friendly motel. Well, I'm back. I finally made it across the country with my monster dog and finally hooked my comp back up...unfortunately my grandparents are only running 2M down. I think it's the same internet the owners had before us. I believe thier name was the Flinstones.
