Best <$100 headset for laptop

They are? Guess I've just been lucky with mine. I've used either IBM or Lenovo for years now, and they're always outstanding. Sorry, I just assumed it was common for laptops to have integrated mics that worked.

Just a friendly heads-ups: we do have a headset review thread, feel free to peruse the postings there to help get an idea of what interest you: http://www.edgegamers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=70989

The "problem" with integrated mics on laptops is that they 'pick-up' the fan
most of the time, causing a ton of background noise.

Exactly. I hate talking to people who use laptop mics because I'm struggling to hear their voice over what sounds like a jet engine.

Holy crap I just found my 2+ year old Cyber Snipa Sonar 5.1 headset...wonder if this thing still works...although I found positional performance was merely above average at best. Might end up not getting a new headset at all for a while...

Plantronics GameCom 377, cheap and a sturdy headset.

Cheap. Yes. Sturdy. No....Mine snapped in half about a week ago, I wouldn't recommend them, also they are kinda heavy to get used to, first little while I was getting neck pains till I got used to them. Just my two cents.
