Jail needs YOUR ideas for games!

what is a warday?

A warday is when all the Prisoners are freely allowed to go into Armory without being shot and meet up at a certain place the Warden chooses at a certain time. Once you reach this area and the time is right, the Guards will shoot at anyone in this area and you may shoot back.

This would be invalid as its a text command

So is typing go. It wouldn't really be a 'command' if you were to say "the last one to do what i type in chat dies" :) just the same as "the last to get to pool dies when i type go"

Im still getting clarification on this...

Our rules are like 300% stricter than any other jail server I've come across at least, which makes it a little more difficult to come up with new games. It's not impossible of course, but it's challenging to come up with a new game that sticks.

Bring back wardays..and...unlimited freedays! ;D

After thoroughly reading the Jail Server Rulebook and Cryptex's thread..I see no reason why we couldn't do Last Reaction, text style.

1) There is no more "banned games" list in the Rulebook.

2) The game is fair, it's a different version of Simon Says pretty much.

3) Initiate the beginning of the game on the mic, then take it to text. All orders must be followed, as it was initialized over the microphone. ie; "Today, we're going to be playing a game of Last Reaction. The last person to do what I type into chat dies." is the same as "When I type go, shift walk into soccer field, run into climb, run into race, then run back into cellblock. Last two to make it back to cellblock dies."

4) Abide by this strategy guide, I don't see why not.
Does the game require the terrorists/prisoners to move?
Yes - Allowed

Does the game kill 65% or more of the terrorists/prisoners?
No - Allowed

Does the game require the terrorists/prisoners to answer questions/choose random numbers?
No - Allowed

Does the game have a "prize" where the terrorist(s)/prisoner(s) die, but they do not know about it until they win?
No - Allowed

Orders Must Be Fair
Games you order the prisoners to participate in must provide everyone a chance to compete and win. Games must have fair rules to determine winners and losers, and must not be hindered by discrepancies in prisoners' systems (games such as last reaction which will be unfair if some experience mic lag are not permitted). If a game depends on a synchronized start (such as a race), you can either start the game by typing "go" (or any similar direction or typo) or designate a round time at which to start.

That rule talks about mic lag, but it will be in text, temporarily invalidating that statement, I believe.
Unless higher authority(CS:S LEADERSHIP OR COUNCIL ONLY, DO NOT COUNT ON OTHER DIVISIONS FOR DEFINITE ANSWERS.) says otherwise, I do not see why we couldn't play a text version of Last Reaction.

Also the maps need to be more balanced. There are some that are extremely T favored, and some that are extremely CT favored

i gotta try the new last reaction first reaction type mode, this will help with games to do in jailbreak, in fact one idea i came up with was
To have all t's be evenly distributed into solitary cells (3 of them) Then when a ct opens them and types out left right or middle, whichever one he types out that solitary cell people have to come out, if your still in the soli cell by the time they close, or are the last one out OR came out when it wasnt your cell called you die, I think this should be legal.

I had a game I played a few times before, but still needs perfecting.

Ball Tag:

On a map that has a bomb (ie Canyon and it's basketball-bomb), or if no bomb is present then use an empty primary/secondary, toss it to a random prisoner. When you type "go" the one holding the "ball" must attempt to throw it at the other prisoners. If another player is hit with it, they'll become "it" (think of tag from earlier childhood days). And the process repeats until a given time.

Of course, the person holding the ball at the end loses, but you can give him a few chances of course. It's up to the warden, and can actually be a pretty fun game. Make sure to keep it in a confined area (liked soccer field) otherwise the prisoners will run off to who-knows-where.

Abdul has brought up some interesting games on jail, as of recent. One especially for the space jail (Can't remember the exact map name of it at the moment, forgive me).

It's basically hide and go seek, where it's at the beginning of the round, and so far the rules have just been to not go into autowants, and to hide before a certain time. The CTs kill xx amount of Ts before calling the game off, and everyone comes out of hiding.

Of course, this is difficult to pull off with all the secret weapons, and since the CTs are split up and can rebel. Perhaps this idea can be sent to some mappers, and have an automated cover randomizer room, where it basically activates certain doors similar to how the maze works on handofthrawn.

Other than that, I believe looking at other childhood games like kick the can, german spotlight, freeze tag, etc could bring up some promising new ideas for games. (Vexx's Ball Tag xD)

Another one that utalizes mapping techniques is capture the flag. The Ts are divided among two teams, and there are custom bombs with a trail or something to show what color team has it, and they run into each other's bases trying to find it after the other team hides it somewhere. Just an interesting idea. (Possibly hard to implement)

I'm just spitballing ideas here. I agree that I'd like to see Trivia come back, and Last Reaction is about as bad as Simon Says and should be one of those games that are kept banned from the Jail.

Just as a final statement, I'd love to see more skill involved games. The same climb over and over has a short learning curve, and it becomes a bit unfair to the rest of the people who have never done it before. And after a while, older maps become stale since you already know how to do everything. With tag, there's really no learning curve and it's random each time, and with more strategies, it's dynamic, and overall, much more fun to play. So I say lets stray away from the games like Last Reaction and Fish In a Barrel (If anyone knows what that is.)

NUMBER FOUR:
Extreme Climb:

Instruct the Prisoners to complete a "regular" version of climb. Every 10 seconds, the Prisoner in last place will die until there is one remaining OR until you kill 64% percent of the Prisoners. Prisoners must be moving towards the finish every 2 seconds. Once the game is initiated, there is no reason for Prisoners to type. No repeating blocks. It is automatically hot lava.

I like it! I'd like to also see more cointoss LR<3 *All the guards do a deagletoss, if it points away from the ramp (HEADS) they live, if it points toward the ramp (TAILS) they're executed.

*This post took over 900 seconds on a ps3 controller. = FAIL D:

I got confirmation and both of these games are allowed :) :) :)

Hide and seek
T's hide. CT's seek. First [number] T's to be found die (following 65% rule). ALL CT's wait in armory and seek after the alloted time. Hiding in autowants makes you wanted. Survivors can compete for LR with another game.

Last Reaction
You say over the mic "the last one to do the action I type in chat dies" and then you type an action such as: "jump"; "stay crouched"; "do a 360" or what-ever you see fit.

Hopefully a variety of different games will now be played so each round wont be exactly the same (couch game > race > climb).

Ric, I think you should edit your first post and list all the games that can be played & how from the suggestions, that way people wont have to look page for page for ideas :)

Another game I see played time-to-time is something that goes along the lines of this...

Battle Royale
Participating Guards will have a knife fight with all the Prisoners in a confined area (preferably 1:2 or 1:3 Ratio so T's aren't out-numbered and not the entire CT team dies - but this will depend on how many prisoners are playing).

Guards objective is to kill 65% of the prisoners: if that is accomplished, then the game is stopped and survivors compete for LR with another game.

If that is not accomplished and all the guards die, then Prisoners who killed one of the participating Guards will pick another T to live with them up-until the 65% rule is followed, the rest die. Round continues with a different game to compete for LR.
