After looking through some hate videos of eGO on youtube, I noticed Some of the comments on them were from some of our members, (will not say names) responding back to them in not only a negative way, but in a way that not only makes them not live up to eGO standards, but they can make us all look bad in a way.. I am not sure if this topic has been hit up before, but I think it should be implemented into our rules. Hopefully im ok for posting this

Its like going to another clans website and trolling about how we are better or we have this and this, etc. etc.

We are supposed to be a well respected clan, and things like this give us a baf image.

Anyone have any comments on this?

You can't try to control every aspect of our members lives. If they see someone hating on the clan then it's instinct to defend the clan. If they get too carries away with it it's unfortunate but you can't tell them to not post things on other sites. But I do agree that they should be asked not to post things that undermine the respect outsiders have for the clan.

Youtube is youtube. Full of trolls. We can't admin on there, it won't work.

I'm not trying to admin youtube or control anyone, it cant happen. And if people wnt to defend eGO or anything they care for, there is nothing wrong with that. My issue is people saying the things they say then directly under their statement they put our clan tag then their name. Even though it isnt on our forums or our servers, you still have to maintain that standard. Its the same as going to another TF2 server for example, no matter what server we maintain our image.

I will on occasion browse through threads, video comments and whole web sites dedicated to bashing eGO. I won't give the haters any sort of satisfaction by responding.

We cater to a different demographic. If they can't handle that, well too bad for them. It's not like we own ALL the servers for their particular game.

My advice:

If you see something like that, just smile and know that what we're doing is working and those haters aren't welcome here anyways.

Also, if you see something particularly grievous and damaging coming from a member, send leadership a heads up in the dropbox. Let them (the leaders) decide if anything should be done about it.

Same thing i thought Jubei I just shook my head, sighed and
Moved on. Responding to those never works and fuels the fire for them and others who look at the comments.

It wasn't actually them.

you know, their maybe other people that have the same youtube name as our forum name. I know I found a guy named beta on a Parkour/Freerunning website.

If it was or wasnt them, all it takes is one. To prevent it, I figured i might as well say something, sry if this was pointless to some

"you hold your future in your own hands. Never waver in this belief. Don't swagger. The boy who swaggers--like the man who swaggers--has little else he can do. He is a cheap-Jack crying about his own paltry wares. It is the empty tin that rattles the most. Be honest. Be loyal. Be kind. Remember that the hardest thing to acquire is the faculty of being unselfish. As a quality it is one of the finest attributes of manliness."

Its not the youtube account name its the name posted after the comment, like a signature

To put it simply, most of the video comments on youtube are either inflammatory or negative. These videos are nothing to be worried about. If you see a disrespectful or inappropriate comment and you can confirm it is a member please post it in the Drop Box.
