Oh you're totally right about the $$$ for an S&W. I wouldn't say I've had problems with Taurus. But they just have a bad feel to me. Like this is not a quality product. Charter Arms on the other hand, feels like a solid piece of machinery to me, and seems way underpriced for the quality. So it's not a quantitative debate, it's just my opinion.

TBH I didn't set out to get Callahan's gun...except in the sense that anyone who buys a Model 29 has Dirty Harry in the back of their mind even a little bit. I got a deal on it...$600 IIRC and pounced. It had a rubber Pachmayr grip that I hated. And it's not like I'm going to CC that thing anyway...so I got all showy with it. Kinda like when I finally get around to getting that Desert Eagle .50 cal I'm probably going to get the gold plated one :)

I really like my Taurus .40 auto. It does feel a little cheap because the stock grips are just plastic crap but it operates like a magnificent machine when I can accurately rip 17 rounds into the target as fast as I can pull the trigger. I love that gun.

Sorry to necro this thread but figured I shouldn't start a new one seeing as there was already a thread here...so anyway....



These are my plinkers a S&W M&P 15-22 and a Walther P22. I also just picked up an EAA Witness P in 9MM (think CZ-75) but don't have pictures yet. I've found that with the more firearms I own the more I want.
 
I use my body to hurt people. My voice is a way of mediation for my anger. If the individual engages, I use my body. If one does not engage physically on me, I stay frosty.
Rugby skills are a great weapon.
