I don't think The Three Musketeers need the Paul W.S. Anderson treatment...or the blimps.

I think that movie looks good.

I also thought Hudson Hawk was a great movie..............don't judge

Was waiting for the line "IN 3D"

But it never came :(

Also why not go full over board and throw in a more steam punk essence in the movie?

WOW

Those ships are straight out of Super Mario Brothers 3...

I love how they say "The legend comes to life..." "... like never before"

According to IMDB, there are 30 movies matching the exact same title!
In 1921 the legendary Douglas Fairbanks took on the lead role. In 1948 Gene Kelly took on the role. Or how about 1973 when Christopher Lee played Rochefort and Charlton Heston played the Cardinal.

If we wanted silly, why not look at 1993 and Kiefer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen, and Chris O'Donnell. At least we know that Tim Curry is pure evil.

The lack of original screenplays just irks me. How many reimaginings and sequels and copies do we need. I could write a screenplay for this story just by watching a couple of the better ones.

Don't knock the '93 version, I grew up on that movie.

Anyway, with dealing with a property like the The Three Musketeers there will always be remakes and reimaginings. This is due to the nature of the property; a studio picks up the property and makes a movie. After the film is released they hold onto the property for a couple of years and then sell it off to another studio, who intern creates a movie. It's a cycle that will continue pretty much forever.

Still, here is hoping that this will at least be better than The Musketeer.

Dang that looks like a good movie they been releasing bad movies lately Transformers & Green Lantern, Cars etc

hey sexy, we all know that the blimps are in there for the added effect. after all the rest of the movie just wouldnt catch enough attention with the action from the blimps. overall it looks interesting but parts of it looks a bit over the edge.

Well to me it seems quite okay. Not really a must watch but more of a.. could watch if my friends took me with them.

Disgusting. I am APPALLED at this- the three musketeers was already good enough, it was already a classic, and they go and do this to it?

Well that's what happens when you let the guy whose responsibe Alien vs. Predator and all four Resident Evil movies adapt classic liturature.

Do blimps equal the french equivalent of that spinning whirlpool thing in pirate's 3?

I am probably going to pass on this one (as per normal, as it comes to this year in film), but you never know the real Ebert might rise from the grave, knock out the Robo-Ebert (rock 'em sock 'em style--not real steel) and tell me to see this movie, and then I might be persuaded to go.

yay for Hollywood screwing around with classic..
did they run out of ideas or something?

Hollywood is fond of remakes and reboots - that's for sure.
But how come the rest of the world always goes unmentioned?

Say for example:
[ame=http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7069307816427160377]Turkish Star Wars (1982)[/ame]
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PBbK8tkTE8]King Kong Vs Godzilla by Toho (1962)[/ame]

There's even a flick called 3devat (or something) that features an evil Spiderman who tortures his enemies by having trained guinea pigs eat out his enemies' eyeballs - and fighting against him are Captain America and a Mexican wrestler.

I could name more but I think that says it all. On the topic of this movie though; Just.. what? WHY?
