To make a long story short, my pc died about a week ago ('new windows update' virus, burnt out video card, popped capacitors). So today the family and I went out and bought this laptop while the pc gets repaired. quesxWe paid $500 for it at sam's club. It is working great for what they want/need it for, however it refuses to play youtube videos. It will play videos from other sites such as facebook, dailymotion, etc with no problem. This is where it gets good. If Iattempt to play a video on the youtube website it will be a black screen that wont load, if I watch that same youtube video somewhere else (for example connected to a forum post) it will play just fine. Any ideas on what I can do? Thanks

Hi Grim,

There's a couple things you can try here.

Youtube reported a bit of a compatibility issue with Flash, make sure you have the latest version of Flash installed, http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ if you're still having issues, then try disabling hardware acceleration by going here, http://www.youtube.com/swf_test.html right clicking on the video and disabling HA under it's tab.

You may also want to try clearing out your browser cache (in IE, go to internet options, browsing history, or just download CCleaner) or trying a different browser entirely.

With a new computer, you may also want to make sure that your graphics card is up to date, in this case it looks like you're running an Intel HD Graphics onboard, http://downloadcenter.intel.com/

well... now youtube videos are working fine. lol idk if the updates the computer installed last night fixed the issue or what but... yeah. :p
