Can't Play on BlackMesa

I downloaded the map from Gamebannana and put it in my maps folder. However, whenever I try and join the eGO BlackMesa server, it still tries to auto-downloaded, and I always, almost immediately, end up with the "Couldn't CRC cp_blackmesa_final.bsp" error. Please help a not-very-tech person out. :(

Try deleting the downloads folder.

Look for (...)/SteamApps/(username)/team fortress 2/tf/maps

Well not the entire content of the folder but only the ones concerning cp_blackmesa_final

Do the above while standing on your head. That always helps me.

Ah, but therein lies the rub, to quote a little Shakespeare. The first time I tried to let it autodownload, I always got a connection timeout. I can certainly give it another shot, though...

That's... weird. Here, maybe the autodownloaded version of the map fixes it. (link coming in a bit- uploading mine).

Here is the link (bsp, this goes into the soundcache folder)- I've also noticed how atrocious my upload speed is compared to my download speed (downloading something the size of the map would take like... 10-20 seconds, uploading like a minute :().

That should be both of the files.

you might be able to get it from tf2maps.net unless they had a revolt over mesa2 testing and trashed it.

Ok, great, I'll try that out. Can someone tell me where the soundcache folder is? I'm on a Mac, by the way.

The soundcache folder is in your maps folder. If you don't have one I'd just ignore that part for now, and only make one in there if it doesn't work without. (and its literally soundcache no caps or anything).
