Battlefield 3 not coming to Steam

FACT: The only reasonable explaination for them making it Origin exclusive is so they can force us to pay the extra 10 or 20 dollars console gamers pay and net %100 of the profit.

Go to 4chans /v/ board
Talk about alpha
Get hate on, etc.
Come out laughing

fixed it for you ;) /v/ is garbage, most times there are just threads where people hate games because of the developer that made them. There are very few threads in which people outright like a game. I only go to /v/ to laugh at the mad groups of people complaining about a game.

Although all that I see on Origin is a $59.99 BF3 preorder price tag, where as a lot of big new PC releases usually hover around $49.99. Usually b/c PC games don't have some royalty to pay (i.e to Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft), for releasing on consoles.

Not to mention that costs go down for digital download, which means raising the price on a PC Digital Download-able game is double absurd. But at least pre-ordering gets you the first expansion.

There may be hope for BF3. Read somewhere that it may come to steam sometime AFTER its release. Here's the link if you want to read, but take it with a grain of salt. [Link]

You can still download it from anywhere else and then add it to Steam... it'll be available on Origin, Direct2Drive, Impulse and more or via the normal retailers. If it's anything like the previous EA titles on Origin, you won't need Origin running to play it. I bought BC2 from Origin, and I added it to Steam and I get all the advantages of Steam and I don't run Origin at all.

Battlefield 3 on the Xbox is only going to be 24-player. And is going to be on the xbox :P

...that's right! PC FTW!!!

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/DICE-Battlefield-3-Patrick-Bach-64-player-FPS,13132.html

"The biggest difference between the PC and console version of Battlefield 3 is that we have 64 players on PC and 24 players maximum on console," said DICE boss Patrick Bach.

the team tried to squeeze more players into the console version but realized it required the team to scale down all the graphics, scale down all the destructibility, and in some cases scale down the map sizes.

we would have to cut away so much; people would get very upset that it looked worse, played worse and wasn't as fun as the PC version. We would never do that because the fun is always more important."

Adding more than 24 players also meant removing the vehicles, as they require a lot of data that's shoved through the network and the CPUs. "If you had more vehicles, that would mean less players and vice versa," he said.

Anyone that gets this on console instead of the PC, and has a PC that can handle it, is a fool!
