Looking for a particular kind of CMS

Here's my problem:

My school's website contains individual sets of pages for teachers to use to post information and resources for their students. However, the only way for them to edit their pages is through Dreamweaver, which is complicated, hard to learn, and difficult to use for some teachers.

Here's my idea:

A front-end system that the teachers can simply go to in their web browser, log into, and edit all of their documents, pages, and their navigation menu from there.

Now, I could build this myself, but it would take many, many hours of work, and before I spend all those hours of work, I'd like to find out whether or not there's a CMS that would suit my needs.

All I need is support for multiple users, where those users can edit only their pages, as well as upload files. An editable navigation menu for each teacher would be nice, too, but I'm doubting any CMSs have that. :P

I've tried concrete5, dragonfly, joomla, mambo, pixie, tribiq, wolfcms, and wordpress, but none of them seem to be able to do exactly what I need.

Any thoughts or input is appreciated.

Thanks!

Well, you listed almost everything I could think of lol. Try Drupal.

Wordpress should have been able to do what you want. If it didn't, I doubt that you'd find anything different.

Can I ask what wordpress was missing for you to do what you wanted?

:glare: That's right, I did try Drupal already. (When I made the list, I was just looking at all the folders I had in my cms folder, and drupal didn't happen to be installed.) I'll try working with it again though and see if I can figure out if it meets my requirements. ;)

I don't remember, lul, I'll try it again and report back to you.

Thanks for the input, guys. I've found another CMS, SilverStripe, and so far it seems extremely suitable. Permissions-wise, you have to allow groups, not users, to do certain things, though. So I guess I have to create a separate group for each teacher and allow them access to specific pages that way. So far, though, it seems to be working out very nicely.

I will still try messing with Drupal and Wordpress again to see if I can get them to work for me. :)
