Question for EGO

[GunnyGunni]

I have been playing on your DoD server for a very long time now under the name Gunny. I try and follow the rules but wanted to ask a question.

I have a spray i have been using on your server for over a year. It's Eric Cartman from South Park in a WW2 German army uniform. He has a swastika armband on the uniform.

I have never had any issue with this spray and like I said have been using it for a long time. It's a WW2 game so I figured it was appropriate. Tonight while on the Kalt server i was told by [an eGO] not to spray it anymore because of the swastika.

I wont spray it anymore because its your server your rules so ill follow it. My question is though since no other admin has ever told me this was [the admin] being a little overboard on the rules or was my spray indeed against the rules?

Hey Gunny,

As you know the swastika has a avery strong link with racism and other horrible acts. I appreciate your respectful inquiry and this would be a great chance to clear the subject up with our admins. Swastikas are allowed on all eGO servers as long as they are not used in conjuction with another racist terms, symbols, or references. Here in eGO we have a large community and because of this it is difficult to make sure all of our more detailed rules are followed exactly. I thank you for listening to the admin's request and asking for further clarification.

To answer your question:

Your spray is allowed as long as it doesn't have the previous elements I mentioned.

I will leave this thread up for our members and admins to refresh their information regarding this subject. However, I have removed the admin's name.

It might be easier for leadership to make a judgement if you could provide a picture of it here in the forums.

I know because DoD is a WW2 game we allow the swastika and anything else related to the era. This is as long as it is NOT derogitory or offensive. The admin may have been from another divison and not known about this. (or I could be wrong because I have not played in the last 2 months and am very rarely on Kalt)

Like I said a copy of it would be nice as it would clear up any misunderstanding.

edit: looks like Stormy got in infront of me. by a couple mins

Thank you for the fast reply. Here is my spray, if the link works it's the one at the bottom of the page.

You should be good to go with that spray.

Like i said earlier its difficult getting all of our admins on the same page regarding intricate rules, especially since we have multiple divisions playing different games. If you are asked to change it again please follow their request but contact me or any other leadership member. If you have an eG or eGO on your friends list they should be able to concact us in a timely manner.

Once again, thanks for handling the situation in a respectful manner. Know that you're always welcome on our servers and if you encounter any problems don't hesitate to contact me or any of our eGs or eGOs to answer your questions.
