Who else thinks that medic needs some love in regard to primary weapons? Something other than a needle gun perhaps?

Discuss.

I think the class is fine the way it is to be honest. The medic can already take down scouts, snipers, spies, other medics and engineers without their sentries.

They CAN, i know. but imo it would be nice if the medic had some sort of needle rifle. maybe an mp40 that fires needles? idk. I just like guns better then arching weapons.

It's good the way it is, fixing it would unbalance the classes. Also the medic is meant for support anyways so they wouldn't need to kill that much considering they can already kill 3-4 other classes.

Class is fine really no need since they are MEDICS and they really don't need to attack that much.

imo the needles are OP as it is when you chase a medic without a soldier or dem...
wait a minute. No one plays those other 7 classes anymore!

There is the coined term of "battle medic." If there will be a new primary weapon for the medic, it will be one that reduces support capabilities and increases offensive abilities. So far... I have no ideas. Giving the medic a rifle is too far-fetched in my opinion.

I don't think he necessarily means a more powerful one, just a little more variety. All of them have little variation, gains health on shot, less health overtime; movement speed; it's not much variation on the stats you know. And then the crossbow...just makes him too supporty for my liking.

I've always wanted a melee weapon for the medic that acts as a legit syringe, instead of just looking like one.

For example, every time you would hit an enemy with the syringe, it drains 25 health from them. and with that 25 health, it fills up 25% of the syringe. You can have 100 health into the syringe at once pretty much. Now if you hit an ally with that syringe, it gives them the 25 health. Now it seems kind of useless since the medic already has a medigun, but if valve ever really does decide to make the medic more of an offense class, this would be usefull leaving the secondary slot to be used by something else.

Maybe if the medic rifle had an on wearer effect, such as no ubercharge and/or slower healing capabilities, then he could be more of a battle medic class and less of a support class, while still mainting support class capabilities.

Why would we want that?

Because, as a medic, sometimes i want to be more of a battle medic and the syringe gun doesn't quite cut it. I would like to kill while also healing :).

btw, i play medic a lot.
